  1. I am able to eat one low carb low fat meal a day. I could mot deal with only shakes. Im craving a bacon egg and cheese bagel with hash browns! Ahh! Lol
  2. Im on pre op diet and hungry!!! I hope its not like this post surg. I doubt it will be. But now i just want it over with bc I'm starving!!! Anyone else enjoying their pre op diet?
  3. My surgeon has me on a 2 week pre op diet of 3 protein shakes a day, plus one low carb low fat meal, plus a snack like fruit. Shows you how different all surgeons are.
  4. Scheduled for Jan 7th. So nearvous. So nervous. So nervous. Thats it!!
  5. Your stomach is swollen for about 8 weeks. You will naturally be able to eat a little more once swelling goes down. No need to freak out, its not stretching. 600 cals a day is like 1/6 of what u eat pre op. Give yourself credit!
  6. To eveyone posting the good and bad, thank you! I am scheduled for surgey in Jan and without this site, i do not think i could do it. You guys motivate and make it real. Please keep it coming and know that it is so appeetiated.
  7. I have noticed that straws help take in things that dont taste so good...like protein shakes! Sends it right bedhind the taste buds. When i sip i have to taste it. Ughh. Lol.
  8. So i know we are not supposed to use straws. Intake of gas i suppose?? But i noticed that i can get nice small sips in with straws. Im pre op...practicing! Tell me your straw story.
  9. My date is Jan 7th and my nerves are going to be out of control i know it. I work with a surgeon and he keeps telling me i should be just fine and after a few months i will laugh at myself for being nerved out. Its normal to be nervous, its surgery! Elective! I just try to look at how it will change my life for the good. I think your nerves will be crazy until you are put to sleep on the table. I know mine will. I wish you all the luck and keep us posted with your post op progress.
  10. I think those that lose 100 lbs in 5 months are over 350 lbs. You tend to lose more the heavier your are. 10 lbs a month is considered very sucessful. You are doing great!! Everyone is too hard on themselves!! Everyone here seems to be doing amazing. You are my motivation
  11. I have not been over eating, i just eat what i want half the time and watch the other half. I have not gained a pound doing this so i dont worry about it. When i watch myself 100% of the time i feel deprived. I am actually eating less these days days trying to trick my mind before the big day. Dont beat yourself up over this. As someone who lived on diets since 8 years old, im glad to be enjoying myself just for a few weeks. You will be fine!!
  12. My nervousness is overtaking my excitement. So annoying.
  13. I think its the whole "omg i cant ever eat these things again" panic. Like its your last meal. Im sort of doung that now. "trying to get it all in" type of attitude. I am pre op, January date. Christmas is my "last meal" lol. Dont worry! You are normal.
  14. Im already super nervous and my date is jan 7th. I visited a friend in hospital today who had her sleeve done one Monday. Same place i will go. She was doung great and her incisions were tiny and hardly noticable! Made me feel a little better. There is always that "what if" in my head about something goung wrong. But i always overthink and worry about nothing. Nerves will be the only thing stopping me, but i need to do this. I understand your freak out mode and the closer i get the more freaked out i get that im doing this!! Stay strong and the best of luck with your surgery!!
  15. It seems that you stay strict until you hit goal and then just maintain while throwing in some different foods. Obviously carbs are the major trigger to weightloss. I just want to make sure that if i do indulge in some no no food, my stomach will tell me when to stop.
