It's Gonna Be A Good Day...

I am very happy you found your ring. A few hints-eat protein first and chew, chew, chew. I started my sort of diet in March and was banded 7/30. I am not a breakfast eater so I started and still have every morning a protein shake. I love them. i only drink chocolate and I sometimes add decaf instant coffee and peppermint extract and lots of ice and they are thick like a McDonald's shake. I have a small blender that is also a drinking cup. Good luck. I wish I knew about this site before my banding.

A Little Over One Week Post Op

Very nice. Can you use a straw? I was banded 7/30 and still can not use them. They do something to you with filling you with gas. Something like that. Maybe ask. Good luck.

5 Months Post Op: Down But Not Out

I can't seem to get going with exercise either. My son told me that on demand (I have Comcast in Boston) there are exercise programs that are free. I looked once. No excuse, I don't work outside the house so I do have time. I do go to large stores most days and walk around them even if I don't make any purchases. About clothes-go shopping-it's great to see the smaller size on your body!!! I loved it when I went from women's to misses. Feels wonderful. Good luck with making better food choices. I try most meals and my husband makes comments if I stray.

    Down And Out

My weight has not changed in over 2 months but my inches have gone down. I can't figure that one out. My husband says i eat too much. I don't think so. I go back to the doctor in 2 weeks for my 2nd fill. I'll find out what I am doing wrong. One blogger once told me she stayed the same weight for many many months but lost inches. Good luck.

9 Months Post Op- Life Goes On!

You're doing great for less than one year since your banding!!! Good for you. Reading this makes it seem real that this can happen to me too.

    Very Cold

Since I have lost weight I am always cold. I was always the hot one. I seem to never get warm anymore. I wear a mink jacket when it gets below 40. Yes, I wear fur and eat meat. Maybe my husband is right, time to move down south. But then my grandchildren will be in MA and I don't think I could ever leave them. I find myself drinking hot tea all day and that isn't working either. Yesterday my husband and I went for our annual dermatology checkups. I was told to never use toner again. It either has alcohol or acetone in them. Never knew that after using them for over 40 years. The doctor did say rentol (excuse spelling) is very good for wrinkles. I bought CVS brand on sale. I am on the vein side but you wouldn't know that by me being so over weight for so long. I use to go to Cape Cod to a resort and the resident comic was gay and extremely large and made fun of decorating his large body. From the first time I heard him say that, I started dressing much better. It took a fat man to tell me that fat doesn't have to dress bad. Thanks for listening to me. Have a great Thursday. Time to go food shopping-how fun? Not.

Hi Ho Off To The Potty I Go.......

I over drink and have for many years. I drink iced tea, hot tea and water only. I am up all night going potty because my feet are level with my body. My weight hasn't changed in over a month but I have lost inches. I weigh myself about 4 times a day. I know this is wrong but that's me. I don't exercise enough, no excuse. Have a great holiday.

    Not Enough

Last night I went to my nephew's wedding. It was super, at an industry museum. I got up very late yesterday to start my day. I had my protein shake around 2pm. I know very late. I went to the wedding and wore my new suit, size 18 misses. I looked great! After the ceremony we went for the reception. I didn't have any food because of the choices. It was hot and I guess I went way too long without eating. The room started to spin and I felt faint. My daughter-in-law got me a chair, an oj and a roll. I will never go that long without food again. When dinner was served I ate. Awful feeling. I usually have a protein bar with me but thought the veggie platter would be good but the choices were not for me. The pass arounds were not great either for me. The dinner was great for me. I had wonderful melon for my dessert. The dj played a great mix of music. Must have been about 50, 25-30 year olds. Made me feel young again. There was a photo booth. That was fun. I finally have my first and only niece.

3Rd Fill Today And Lesson Learned

What is MFP? I also an not a veggie eater. I do love salad and have never had dressing in my life, so I am good eating salads before my dinner, about 1 hour before. I have awful gas after every meal. I was told that is common and my husband doesn't make rude remarks anymore. I go for my second fill the week after Thanksgiving. My weight hasn't changed much but I am losing inches. I take my measurements on the 6th of each month, but I didn't start until September and my heaviest was in March and surgery July 30th. So I really don't know how large I was except by clothes. Good luck!!

    Not Enough

I wore a very dark brown pant suit with a hint of gold in the fabric. Very low cut with a large diamond and gold necklace. It is actually a brooch that I put a chain through it (It is/.was my mother-in-law's) I always borrowed it and have had it for many years and she never asked for it back. She saw me wear last night. I guess it's now mine!!! I wear a size 12 shoe, that means investment for each pair. I still had the dyable shoes and bag from my son's wedding and for $12. each had them redyed the right color. I did do the photo booth. You take 6 pictures, 3 on each side and you put 3 of them in an album and write something for the bride and groom. Very cute and fun. My 2 sons, each around 6'2", one around 200 lbs and the other over 325 got on either side of a cousin who must weight 150 and kissed him on each side. I did not see the picture but my husband did and said it was great. I feel sorry for him being caught in between my sons. They are large. It was a super wedding. This morning my brother had a brunch at his house for out of towners. Thanks for asking.

    Lap Banded 11-8-12

Congratulations!! I also had the hernia fixed but knew about it because I had to take 6 pills a day just to eat. My stomach was also in the wrong place and that got fixed too. I was banded 7/30 and feel super. The pain lasts about one week but I found the shoulders hurt the most from the gas they put in you. I was told to use a heating pad and that helps. I am also a mother, grandmother but I don't work anymore. I am a 62 year wife, the other day was my 42nd year anniversary. All the banders on this site come in different shapes, sizes and ages. It is a fun site and you meet super great people. Enjoy your new life. I am enjoying mine, finally!!

    The Shelf

While I was getting dressed this morning my husband said my shelf is gone. He never knew how to tell me how bad it looked. I told him, I knew I had a huge shelf. Not a Kim K. shelf but a platter size one. I have my daughter-in-law's baby shower this morning. I have on a twin set from my fatter days and the sweater buttons and looks great! I am enjoying being thinner. I know that sounds weird but in my old life when I would lose weight I couldn't handle comments. It really bothered me and this time, don't know why, but they don't bother me as much. Have a great day everyone.

    Vitamins, Supplements, Protein...oh My...

I take all chew able vitamins, also. I take them all in the morning and try very hard to remember the second Caltrate calcium & vitamin D with dinner. They taste good, they are berry flavored. For my protein, I have every morning a protein shake and have 1 1/2 scoops of powder. That way I know I have a lot of protein for the day. I hate breakfast foods and this is how before my banding I lost about 20 something pounds. Good luck.

    Busy Weekend

This is going to be a very busy weekend. Yesterday I had my hair colored and it looks like s**t. Going back today to get the very dark red lighter. tonight is my nephews rehearsal dinner. Tomorrow my daughter-in-law's baby shower. Sunday is my nephew's wedding at a very fun type museum (in MA) and Monday morning an after wedding brunch at my brother's house. Non stop food the whole time but I didn't get a band to eat, eat and eat more, I got it get thinner and thinner! The more I look in the mirror the more loose skin I find. Like my bat wings (bingo arms) whatever you call them. The turkey neck which I over moisturize and the fat is leaving the face. When you get over 60 the skin doesn't go back into place like a 30-40 year old. Have a super weekend everyone in Lap Band land!

    Last Night's Dinner

Yesterday was my 42nd anniversary. My husband and I went out for dinner. I did have some bread dunked in oil. For my main course I had the filet with mashed potatoes and butternut squash. I am not and never will be a vegetable eater. Dinner was super. I ate the small filet and some of the others. My husband ordered dessert, wrong thing to do. He is over weight and a diabetic. I did taste the chocolate torte. It was super. Just a small taste. And then this morning I was down 1 pound!!! I try to move my body everyday. I over drink tea, hot and iced with Splenda. I don't leave the house without my iced tea. Today is cut and color day. I have my daughter-in-law's baby shower Saturday. And Sunday my nephew is getting married. Very busy weekend but fun nice things to do. By then the weather will be wonderful. Snow last night. Rain today and this weekend 60-70. Don't you just love NE weather? I live in the Boston area. Tonight at my support group meeting we are having a clothes swap. I have about 10 pairs of Lauren jeans in sizes 18w and 20w. I hope they find a new home. Enjoy your day and evening Lap Bands!

    Truth Be Told.....

You're right, Lap Band is hard. It is a tool and you have to live by it's rules. My go to drink is tea. Iced, decaf (I brew my own) and now that it is getting cold, I have hot tea all night. Yes I pee all night long. Enjoy your thin days ahead.

    Smaller Sizes

I don't see too much change except in clothes. Today I have on a long sleeve 't' in size xl from the regular misses department! I was wearing a 2 or 3x before. My gym pants are also a size xl from the misses instead of 2xl from the men's department. I feel great today about this. I hope others enjoy a smaller clothes day, also.

    Putting Me First For Once

I finally realized by getting the Band, I put me first for once. I have been taking care of my sick husband for about 15 months. I help with a retarded brother, a 94 year old mother in a nursing home and an 89 year old mother-in-law, who finally gave up driving. You can see, I have a full plate and HATE it. I would love to find a hobby to occupy my time. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.
