  1. I was sleeved 9/19 - and I have only lost about 25lbs. 5lbs in the month after I was sleeved. I feel like this is failing too. I literally had my guts rearranged to not have success. Does this really not work for some people? Could I be that small percentage that I destined to remain fat?????
  2. whewww....thanks. I was getting concerned. I need to look up more "soft" Protein options Thanks for all your help.
  3. So I started soft foods today - and started out with some mashed potatoes. I bought the cheap microwave potatoes that you just add Water too - added a little more water so they were not super thick They were SO good. But...I just sort of think my stomach is holding more than I thought it would. I really thought I would have a few bites and be full. I was able to eat half of the container; probably about 1 cup - until I stopped myself - just in case - and gave the rest to my three year old. Is this normal? Like I said, I really thought my new stomach wouldn't hold 1 cup at a time. Is it because its soft foods - or should I be concerned? Thanks!
  4. This may be a stupid question...but will this cause any issues? I just started my period...go figure. I guess with stress it came a little early. I have an IUD so some times its just a trickle. But, with the blood thiner they will give me on my surgery date will that pose a problem? I guess I should let my surgeon know. What about "protection" - do I pad up or use a tampon? I feel so stupid asking this...but this my first surgery ever - and I am a little nervous / stupid about this stuff. Thanks!!!!!
  5. ugh...will they still operate? I am taking everything I can - but everything is in pill form, not liquid. Any ideas? Its allergies I'm sure... Itcy eyes, scratch throat, small cough. So frustating.
  6. i am closing in on the final days of my two week pre op liquid diet. So far I am only down 4 lbs. I have read so many success stories of people losign 15 or even 20lbs on the pre op. Now I am terrified that this whole thing will not work for me. I do not see myself getting anywhere close to the 15lbs loss mark before my surgery. My doctor didn't say anything about having to lose a certain amount before surgery - but I have heard 10lbs is key for liver reduction. Clearly I am freaking myself out - but any insight or positive reinforcement would be super helpful. Surgery is Sept. 19th.

    Dry Mouth

could it be because we are not actually chewing our food but instead drinking it? Not making saliva causes you to feel as if you have none? I just feel the need to brush my teeth 10 times a day. And now that you mention it, I am using my chapstick more often. Guess I would rather have dry mouth than diabites though...
  8. i am one week away from surgery (sept. 19th) and currently on the liquid pre op diet. however, i have horrible dry mouth. i am drinking more than 64 oz of Water a day...yet it is still really dry and I am afraid to talk to people for fear of bad breath. Anyone else having an issue with this??? Any idea why??? Thanks,

    Just Starting Out

This is probably my 100th attempt at starting a blog of any sort...I am never good at keeping up with it. However, even if no one ever reads this at least its a personal diary of sorts for me. I have the same story as most if not all out here - tried everything under the sun to diet. I went to a weight loss seminar and a light bulb finally went off in my head and I was aware that I had found people that understood my struggles and knew how to help me. I am currently working on getting all of my required items before I can submit the request to insurance. Fingers crossed everything can be submitted by mid-August and surgery for sometime in October or November. I am positive and hopeful that this will work.
