  1. Sounds like a plan! LoL I was offered that same appointment, but my ins. needed at least 3 weeks to kick in. Too funny! What was the best thing you liked about Dr. Deol? What was the worst? I am so nervous, scared, excited, anxious, frustrated and eager all at the same time. I think I could be the next Cybil! LoL Please tell me everthing that went on at your first appointment.... Maybe I could lose a few of my emotions! E-mail me @ michelleb@fdigroup.com Thanks! Baileym:D
  2. ..Thanks for all the info... I appreciate the time to look into it! Has anyone had any one this or went thru the testing? Just curious as to what it is like! Thanks again! Baileym
  3. Can someone please explain some signs of sleep apnea? Also, I am a picky sleeper (ex: I use a fan, well actually 2) Do they accomodate at the sleep test? I am not sure yet if I will have to take this, but Iwas just curious. Thanks! Baileym
  4. You have SOOOO been in my thoughts! Sorry to hear about your month, but from what I have read things will be looking up for you soon! Keep you chin up! I go in for my very first appointment on the 17th with Dr. Deol. I am scared and excited, yet not sure which one is more of! Please keep in touch and let me know how your doing, you have been a true inspiration! Thanks for responding so quickly, was getting kinda worried! Baileym Feel free to e-mail me: michelleb@fdigroup.com
  5. I can not find any update from Teri since about the 7th. Is everything ok? Quite curious as to how she is doing, if anyone knows please let me know, I have been following her progress... Thanks! Baileym
  6. Arghhh! The more I investigate, the more SCARY things I find out! I just read that a person had a catheter...I sure hope this happens when I am asleep! It seems to be getting scarier and scarier!! Comforting words would be PERFECT right now!! Thanks! Baileym:(
  7. Hi Debra, I have not heard of the things you are talking of. My first appointment is March 17th, so I will be able to update you then. I found that the cori center seemed a little more structured and have not heard of anyone n here going there. Dr. Deol has a very good rep on this board so I decided it was best for me. I live in plymouth.canton area. Indeed this is very scary and exciting! Will keep you posted! Baileym
  8. Thanks for the responses, keep them coming! I can see such variety! I also heard many women talking about a Pap exam as well, is this included in the full physical? Also at what age do you think more extensive test should be done?? Just Inquiring and looking for different experiences of the "before procedures"! Thanks again, it has all been a big insight! Baileym P.S. Please don't forget the age!!
  9. I am hearing from some people about all the tests they had to go through to get this done. Would love to get them all under one thread for other "Newbies" to read so they are not so worried. Please list all the tests and age so that we could get an"idea" of what to expect! Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Baileym
  10. Well... My new ins. takes eff. on Monday and I will be calling Dr. Deol's office to make an appointment for mid march(hopefully) and hopefully be on my way to my new life! I have heard some real noce stuff about her and her office, but I would love anyone else's input about her! Can't wait!! Baileym:D
  11. Hi, I am looking into this procedure with Dr. Deol. If anyone could give me input on how she and her staff are, it would be greatly appreciated. I always say the more info you have the better off you are! Thanks! Baileym
  12. Well, Things are looking up! I will be switching Ins. companies real soon and hope to make an App. with Dr. Deol to get this ball rolling! How long is the average time from 1st appointment to post op?? Would love to hear everyone's/anyones time frame! Thanks for your kind words, I will be hanging in there until I become a bandster!! Thanks again! Baileym
  13. Conrads on you fantastic loss! I am just wondering since you were so lucky to lose that fast is there any additional surgeries you might need?? I heard that some kind of rescuplting surgery might be needed... Thanks! And again CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!! Baileymb
  14. Thanks for you thoughts, but things aren't getting any better. The place where I work says that BCN does cover it and the surgeon's office says it doesn't! Even if they do, my doctor is hesitant to write a refferal because she said that BCN does not cover it.... They also say if I change ins. now they might not accept it anyway because it would be a prexisting condition... I am getting a little fed up with Ins companies! I am about ready to just find a way to finance it myself! Any input would be great! Thanks! Baileym
  15. When I started looking into this procedure I thought this could really be the thing for me. It's the waiting for the ball to roll that is so frustrating. I was looking at Dr. Deol site and it said they took BCN...I was SOOOO happy. I called first thing on Monday and was told that BCN does not accept this procedure.. Now I work for a managing agent for BCBS and BCN so I spoke with my boss, who is absolutely wonderful. They are trying to get this to work. I had to get the procedure code and diagnosis code and give it to the head of the department. The wait is driving me crazy, I wish I had the $$$ to just go and get it done! I read about all the experiences and can't wait to add mine, if it ever happens! Thanks for sharing and listening...This site has helped me focus on what I need to do.. I feel better venting with people who understand what I am going through. Hopefully I will hear some good news this week...Keep you fingers crossed, I know I am! Baileymb
  16. I am so excited for you! Please keep in touch and let me know how it went! I just found out my ins. doesn't cover this, but I am still trying.... Thanks again for your insight, I would love any info you can provide including the generic WL resume... Send it to Baileym911@aol.com Thanks again! Baileym
  17. Hi Anne, Thank you so much for your story.. When did you first ask your doctor for the referrel? What tests did you have to take Ex.. EKG, Stress test, stuff like that. Thanks again! Baileym
  18. Thank you first to all who has responded so far. This is by far the hardest decision I have to make. I would love to hear other's thoughts and what helped them make their decision to get this procedure done. Please post away and anything provided I am sure would be a great insight as to why I NEED to do this. I have a 7 yr old daughter who needs me and I feel so limited in what I can do. Thank you for all your help! Baileym
  19. I posted this to another site, I figure might as well get a word out that I am looking for some answers. I have been looking into the lap band for about 1 year now and have found that Dr. Deol seems the closest and highly qualified for this procedure. To me this is a big step, and I am unsure how to continue. Do I see my doctor first, or make an appointment with Dr. Deol? If anyone could help with some of these questions it would be greatly appreciated. Please don't hesitate to contact me at my personal e-mail address. Thank you! Baileymb
  20. I am quite new at this, I have not even set up an appointment. I HAVE been looking though and I am hoping to contact anyone who as seen Dr. Deol in Troy. That article scared me, but I have not heard or seen anything else for the year that I have been doing research. I still have so many questions that it is so overwhelming I can not take "The first step" has anyone else felt this way? Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Baileymb P.S. What are the numbers below the names on here?
