  1. Congrats for being on the other side! Thoughts & prayers for a quick recovery.
  2. Yep, as long as you're not having any pain. They told me not to chew gum b/c it would fill your pouch with air. Glad you're ok!!!
  3. I got it too Cooper. Guess we're cut from the same cloth!!!
  4. I have Aetna and yes I needed a letter of medical necessity. It's no big deal. Just a statement that my weight is going to kill me if I continue down this path.
  5. You're doing great Jim, but I have to agree that 898 calories is not enough for a man.I think 1200-1300 is a little low. My dietician gave our group 1500 for women and 1800 for men. Getting an appt. with your nutritionist is a good idea.
  6. Good question. I'm now allowed to chew gum. Why don't you run it pass your Dr. Hope everything turns out all right!
  7. How did your Labor Day weekend ride go???
  8. I know this is hard on you, but it is going to be so worth it in the long run. All I can suggest is that you find something to take your mind off of food. Go for a walk, shopping looking at smaller clothes that you will fit into soon, visit a friend, just something to keep body & mind busy. Wishing you the best of luck and looking forward to seeing a future post on how great you're feeling in smaller clothes!!
  9. Thank you for your post. You are a true inspiration! Congratulations! You rock!!
  10. Yes, speak with your Dr. He is part of your WL team.
  11. My husband would wake up in the middle of the night with palpitations and heart rate zooming. Really, what can make you stress out when you're sleep?? Who knows, but now he knows he's had every test and has learn to calm himself. You can't believe how many nights it was do I call an ambulance or not?? I should have been having panic attacks, lol. Do hope you find some answers & tell Dr he is stressing you out.
  12. Tried sending a message to my Pink Princess today and it wouldn't let me. Glad it wasn't just me.
  13. Really sorry you're going through this. My husband had the same thing and has had all the same kind of testing. Stress test, blood test halter monitor etc... The only thing they found was high b/p and figured he was having panic attacks. Mostly they were at night. I really hope they find out what the problem is. Your B/P isn't real high, but it isn't normal either. As far as Dr & LB he doesn't have a clue. Hopefully he educates himself. Keep us posted.
  14. That is so cool! So happy for you, congrats!
  15. I'm sorry Princess you're feeling that way. I'd like to give you a big bear hug and squeeze it out of you. (((((PPB)))))
  16. Sounds like you need to walk, walk walk. Also are you laying down right after you're full of your fluids. Dr. Told me not to lay down for a hour.
  17. Stupid phone!!!!!!!!rrrrrrrrrrr
  18. Caffeine is a diuretic & biggest problem with LB is dehydration.
  19. I've been waiting 6mths to send my papers in for insurance approval and in that time I have read WLS books, been addicted to this forum. I've taken what I'm learning and trying a lot out pre surgery. Like- eating small bites, chewing, chewing, chewing, putting my fork down between bites, drinking my water, testing different protein shakes, gathering recipes. I'm trying to break old habits before surgery. I've used this time as a Lapband class. I hope I get an A+ lol Good luck on your journey!
  20. Everyone is different. It depends on your insurance, or if your self pay. I have Aetna and had to go through 6mth Dr. Supervised diet, psych eval, nutrition class. The time really went by fast and it gave me a lot of time to research and study how the band REALLY works. Best of luck to you!!
