  1. These my friend are my very same fears that I have. I don't fear the procedure at all it's the aftermath that freaks me out. I'm having surgery on Sept. 13th. Everyone's answers seem to have put on ease on everything I was feeling. THanks for the post.
  2. Have you tried the hospital where you will have the surgery?
  3. OMG!!! You are so close. I really wish you the best. Please let us know how you do.
  4. Waiting is the hardest thing. Hang in there.
  5. Thanks ladies. I was wondering what the protocol was for Kaiser.
  6. It does make sense. I didn't email him. I figured that he would've told me if it was going to do it.
  7. I was thinking the same thing. I am tempted to emailing my dr. to ask him if he will remove it.
  8. I'd say call her and ask her for one.. to bad my scanner doesn't work otherwise I'd share mine with you.
  9. My friend had hers done there. At Cedar Sinae..
  10. I was just going to ask the same thing.. Your nutritionist should have given you a diet plan to follow. If she didn't give you one you might want to ask for it and follow it to the Tee.. It really works. Good luck.
  11. I'm having mine done at Kaiser South San Francisco. How about you?
  12. Sorry I don't have any advise for you. I do want to share that we will be sharing the same surgery date.
  13. Did your dr. have you do a liquid diet before the surgery? My surgery is scheduled for Sept. 13th. and I have the preop class on the 5th. but I would like to get prepared (mentally). I am under the impression that Kaiser dr.'s don't do liquid diets but I could be wrong. Thanks.
  14. I am actually tempted to email my dr. and ask him if he could remove it. But then I really don't want to sound like a fool if he asks me why..
  15. Are you having your gall bladder removed when you have your sleeve done? I heard it's pretty much a must for sleevers. My dr. didn't mention him removing mine. Any thoughts on this would be helpful.
  16. I haven't had my surgery yet. But when I had a hysterectomy I used the hospital gown and I took my gown which I never used because of all the stuff attached to me. I bought the pj's that were cute capri looking pants with a cute shirt I bought them a little big because the stomach gets swollen. As far as undies the hospital gave me mesh underwear which were great because it didn't have the elastic and didn't hurt the belly. They also suggested I buy bigger panties. Oh and I know many people don't like them but I bought crocks to take to the hospital. They worked perfect. You don't have to worry about bending over to put them as well as reducing the chances of falling because of the skid free sole.
  17. This is the type of recovery I hope I have.
  18. My dr. suggested I lost 10 lbs. by the next time I met with him which was 1 month. Like the other person mentioned it does put you in the right frame of mind. However what I didn't ask the dr. is if I should continue losing before the surgery (sept.13) or just try to maintain. Good luck. What stage are you in?
  19. How exciting that your surgery is on the 20th. good luck and please keep us posted on how you are doing.
  20. I will be sleeved on the 13th. Dr. Le is my surgeon.
  21. Yickes! I feel so behind. My date is September 13th. and I haven't even bought extra Vitamins. I almost want to say that I was in disbelieve that I was going to have the surgery. But it's almost here and I can't seem where to start. I know I have to clean house before the surgery. I will go shopping for my stuff as well as for my 17yr old son and my husband. I will .... ugh! don't know what else. Does anyone know how long we don't drive? Thanks for sharing your ideas. I will make a list and I will update if I come up with any other things I need to prepare. I know that a when I had my hysterectomy I thought I was going to be able to do everything myself and oh boy was I wrong. That is why I kind of want to have a heads up on this surgery.. Thanks.
