Your pre op diet isn’t about weightloss not the 2 week pre op diet before surgery its to shrink your liver it’s a completely different thing to a loosing weight diet to reach goal to get the green light for surgery and its different to the post op loosing weight diet.
This one for 2 weeks is just for shrinking the liver don’t jump on the scales and keep checking yourself out its not for weight you will just go crazy trying to make the scale move when its not for that.

Yes, I've tried it. It's virtually indistinguishable from regular Pasta, at least to my taste buds (and I'm Italian). I was able to eat 8 pieces, which was like a feast! I've heard others say they enjoy whole wheat Pasta and rice pasta.
If you do a search for "Dreamfields" or "low carb pasta" on here you''ll find rather lengthy discussions on the topic.

    I get it too.
I thought (after reading what everyone else said) that I would have no more hunger. Well, my hunger has NOT changed; I still get hungry all the time. It seems perfectly reasonable, because my sleeve cannot store a huge amount of food the way my stomach used to; so now I get hungry and need to eat every 3-4 hours.
The difference is that now it only takes a couple of ounces to fill me up and get me away from the table.

First, I respect that you told just about everyone. That's bravery I just don't have at the moment.
Second, what did your "friend" do when you slapped her face?

The first person I told (besides my surgeon) was my HR rep. I wish I didn't have to, and she didn't say anything at the time except to explain how medical leave works. She was very helpful in that respect, making sure I was able to take the two weeks off.
But fast forward 5 weeks later, after dropping 40 pounds, I saw her in the elevator. She said nothing about my weight loss, which was quite visible (as others at work had told me). Fishing for a compliment, I said something like, "I'm finally fitting back into my old clothes!" and patted my stomach. She gave me a vague smile and said nothing, but her unmistakably judgmental expression was clear: "I don't really approve."
I don't know why, but that really bothered me. I know she's just a low-level HR rep, and she's normally very friendly, but I died a little from that stupid elevator episode.
I wish I didn't have to tell her. That confirmed my suspicion that I was right not to tell too many people.
But that's my life. People love to judge me for some reason. So everyone has to weigh that decision for themselves based on the people in their lives.

My weight loss is way beyond noticeable now (50 pounds in 6 weeks) And, ironically, most of the people in my office who have commented on my weight loss (in a good way) are the straight guys! Everyone knows I'm gay, so imagine my surprise. The women just gnash their teeth and look at me somewhat suspiciously. The other gay guys in the office are mostly of the "poisonous hissing queens" species, so I knew I'd get nothing from them except bitchy gossip behind my back. Go figure!

Your body is still saying "WTH did you do to me????" There's a lot of adjusting going on in there that you can't see. No worries.

I flipped out because there were two days during my second week where the scale didn't move. Now I look back and laugh at myself! I know it's difficult, but be patient. Follow your post-op diet; it WILL start to come off.

Exercise can be a job but just like a paying job it's something you have have to do. Hate it but do it anyway. I get up at 5 am 6 days a week to run for 40 minutes on the elliptical. It's a real grind but it's something that I know I have to do if I want to stay alive so I do it.

Swimming is amazing exercise! It will get you shredded. They don't call it a "swimmer's build" for nothing!
And if reading were cardio activity maybe this country would be more literate.

    1) Freaking out when I go to someone's house for a barbecue and all they have is flimsy lawn chairs with a weight limit of 200.
    2) Having to order all of my clothes online because stores don't stock my size.
    3) Sweating.
    4) Thigh chafing.
    5) Not going to amusement parks because I can't ride the rides anyway.

Aww, thank you! One of the things I want to do before I die, from my "bucket list" as it were, is to throw my drink in someone's face. And your response reminded me of that. Maybe I'll tell more people now so when they give me one of the idiotic responses, I can do that. Then I can die. Seriously.

Before certain people jump on here and start with the "you have to change the way you look at food" speeches, I should make it clear that my post about the Pasta was my experience with Pasta and that it should in no way be taken as an endorsement, recommendation, advocacy, affirmation, approval, or countersignature of similar behavior.
My relationship with food was apparently a lot different than some others on here. I was a "volume eater" becuase of other medical problems I had been having that were making me extraordinarily hungry all the time. But I know now, through counseling, that I really wasn't trying to fill a void in my life with food. I thought that might be the case, but it's not. I've only been obese for the last couple years when my other medical problems started. They were eventually corrected, but the weight stayed on. No, I wasn't always "thin" before my weight gain, but I had never put on that much weight. So the "void" wasn't my problem after all.
However, if you think the "void" problem might be part of why you are overweight, then I'd rethink why you might be craving pasta.

I would advise against using earplugs. If you quit breathing or your oxygen drops too low the tone is designed to get you to wake up. That's important so you don't, you know...die. Even more important when you're post-anesthesia and on narcotics, which can depress your system.
