I am only down 7lbs and I am sure it's because of it! Oh and I didn't like your post because I like the fact you both and relate but because you took the time to answer lol!
  2. Anyone else on preop constipated and bloated?????
  3. Breakfast: eggs and turkey bacon or 1 hard boiled egg and Greek yogurt Lunch: some sort of Protein and salad Dinner: same as lunch with mixed veggies Snacks: deli meat, cheese, jerky, yogurt, hard boiles eggs, hummus I loved steamed shrimp. I also love cheese. I honestly think it got me in trouble post pregnancy as I was eating way more than I should.
  4. @@395Ron I am praying big for strength, healing and a huge turn around in your situation. I am so sorry you are going through this. Sherry thank you so much for letting us know. Ron is a huge contributor on this forum. We wish you all the best during this time.
  5. Hang in there. It is tough. But I must say I have energy they I have felt in the last 2 years. Weird.
  6. What struggling through preop diet?
  7. I so agree! I am day 6 preop. I would kill for roasted chicken. I am totally not craving sweets. Between the shakes and bars I am over sweets!!! Hang in there! I have 8 more days. It is taking so much willpower and prayer. We went to a party yesterday with food and drinks.... Ummm I survived and felt so strong about it. It was a day and I keep thinking this is TEMPORARY. I will get to eat again!
  8. I just had my post surgery class yesterday. Until 14 days post surgery we are on liquids. That includes shakes, ff milk, cal free beverages, vegetable juice, low fat strained Soup, sugar free popsicles, low sugar nonfat yogurt no chunks and hot cream of wheat runny. At day 15 we progress to puréed / soft diet. At that stage we can add cottage cheese, meats, fish, tofu but they don't have to be blended to a liquid. We just have to be sure it is soft and can be chewed to applesauce consistency. Every program is so different. For my program I will be on a notified diet for a total of 10 weeks. 2 weeks preop (Bariatric Advantage), 2 weeks full liquids and 6 weeks soft/puréed. Edit to add: my puréed food guideline is to add as little liquid as possible to conserve consistency. My nut recommended crockpot cooking to get the meat really tender.
  9. You are not alone. As I eat my sugar free Popsicle....
  10. Congratulations and glad u are feeling well! I will be on full liquids 14 days prior to moving to mushy phase
  11. I just saw you posted on other topic! Glad you are doing well. So it seems like most are spending only one night in the hospital. Has that been the experience for those that have had surgery thus far?
  12. I just finished my last preop Nut visit. Great info! Day 4 of preop diet. Dealing with a bit of a headache today. Surgery day 10/21. I hope all that have already had surgery are recovering well. @@60&goin4it how are you????
  13. Consider yourself lucky! Lol. I am on two weeks of bariatric advantage. It is not horrible. I think each program is so different. Did the dr give the reason for changing the diet? My surgeon does it for liver shrinkage.
  14. I am on day 3 of preop. It is not horrible. I am having a bit of a time adjusting to the sugar free taste...
  15. So excited for you!!! Congratulations!
  16. I am glad they let you stay! U do live far away and it is much better to get the pain to a manageable level before u go home.
  17. No didn't get a good night's sleep keep getting up because I was hurting couldn't get comfortable. Hoping to night will be better and I'll be able to get a good night's sleep with out waking up. Did you feel any relief today from the pain? Do they still have your on meds?
  18. Wishing you a speedy recovery! You made it to the losers bench.
  19. I hope you are feeling better today!!!
  20. I agree. I stopped eating low fat and sugar free stuff summer of 2013. I try to stay away from the inside aisles. My kids have never had boxed hamburger helper lol. Now I am not perfect but it's a goal. I am struggling with preop diet because of it. I am having a hard time tolerating the bars especially. I can have sugar free Jello and Popsicles but just not over the top about it. I am looking forward to getting past this stage and getting to eat real food.
  21. Thanks. I tried to go back and see, but I missed that. I only have a small window of time online in the evening so I miss so many posts!
