N VA having surgery at INOVA Fair Oaks

I have my final weigh in on 9/3 and then it goes to insurance. I think/hope for a late Sept date! The coordinator said 10-14 days for approval. Congratulations to you!

I just heard back from my insurance coordinator everything is finished. I just have 1 more weigh in. Early September. She said it takes 10-14 days for approval. I hope to have the choice between two Blue Distinction centers. So I am thinking I may be scheduled before end of Sept!

Or if you mention female surgery! But that may not work in teaching field because most are women. I work with mostly men and that shuts them down. But I agree tell them it's personal. People might think it, but most would not ask! I know I would never. I say most because there is always that one, that feels they should know the ends and outs of everyone else's life.

I would agree. My csection was way worst especially the 2nd one compared to my sleeve. I felt some discomfort of course on day 1, but was up walking around. My csection was tough, I couldn't even get out of bed by myself for at least 2 months. This was last year, so the pain is not a distant memory lol! I also had my tubes tied so not sure if that increased the pain.... But I remember thinking, my 1st csection didn't feel like that 9 years ago!

Amazing! A day of no chub rub is enough to make me shout. Good for you! To feel normal, something that seems so simple, but means all those many things you write about. The feeling I think we all long for. Happy for you, thanks for sharing.

Yeah I am dealing with a coordinator but she is challenging doesn't return calls or emails. I am done with my requirements I go to see my PCP tomorrow and will be sure everything is documented for me so it's more that just lack of weigh loss even though that is an issue too. I don't think the coordinators understand the revision process in total.

I don't know if the insurance coordinators are presenting the facts as revision due to other medical issues....

I didn't think it was an option because of my insurance & because I live in a semi small town & never knew 1 person that had it done let alone where to go. It was all unknown. Oh no I was not judging you. I was trying to understand someone else's comment if your situation. I understood what you meant.

I went back and read your post 3x did I miss something where you posted your were a drinker? I thought maybe you thought the surgery was not an option for you because of some of your other medical concerns, not your lack of commitment. I wish you the best!

How's your recovery going?

I vote other. I had no complications immediately post surgery. I am know dealing with late term complications to include a twisted sleeve, hiatal hernia, and terrible Gerd. My nexium now gets stuck. Everything gets stuck! I am revising to RNY soon.
