Not everyone has similar experiences. I have to very much watch what I eat. I am glad that concept works for you. I just hope you know surgery is not a one size fits all. We all have different experiences. May I ask are you a guy or gal and how far out you are from surgery?

I totally understand. You are still early out. Triumph in your accomplishments thus far. I would not worry about people noticing because in truth their opinions really don't matter. I would keep track if the positive changes that way when looking for clothes and say you are in between sizes, you can relish in your other accomplishments and know that some negative feelings are temporary. It is like through this journey we are always beating ourselves up. People get to goal then we are consumed we have loose skin. Give yourself a big hug, you just took a major step to a healthier you.

Do you notice? How are you feeling? I should edit to say physically? How do you feel lighter? Can you walk up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath. I was there! It is frustrating. I wish someone had said to me what are some positives that you are feeling?

I think you are starting in right place. I am glad I didn't wait longer. My symptoms are worse everyday. It is still a process due to my insurance requirements. I started in April and hope to have revision surgery by late Sept, early Oct.

Go see your surgeon. I had a EDG and barium swallow. I had additional complications discovered with those tests

Haha sounds like my Mother in Law praying that my husband marry his ex-girlfriend. I told people - friends, family. I don't volunteer it up to just anybody. There is such a bad stigma to weight loss surgery. In your position you have the ability to educate patients if asked. I think that's a positive. It is a very personal decision. I understand the numerous reasons on why not to tell. I currently work with a bunch of gossiping folks, so not sure I would want to tell them. I also have few that are a not heavier than me that against WLS.

Complications on your sleeve? Anything we future sleevers should be concerned about - or ask our surgeons about? Where in VA are you? My whole family lives in VA - Herndon, Manassas and Charlottesville. Here's my story: I am almost 3 years post op from gastric sleeve surgery. My surgery was 10/1/12. I was a slow loser from the start. When I was ready, I was working out 5-6x a week. I saw my surgeon and nut at required times. They thought my progress was great. I had my surgery in Bogota. I lost 53lbs pre/post op from Oct 2012 until July 2013. We moved back to the US and I gained about 7lbs. We were living in a hotel and I started a new job. We found out we were expecting a baby in Sept 2013. My weight loss slowed between July and August of 2013 leading up to pregnancy. I had a difficult pregnancy but gained weight just like I did in my pre-sleeve pregnancy. After my delivery in 2014, I noticed an increase in reflux and my weightloss was nonexistent. I consulted with a new doctor. He ordered a barium swallow. That showed a hiatal hernia and confirmed gerd. At that time the doctor told me he had several post pregnancy sleeve patients with dilated sleeves. I had my follow up endoscopy which confirmed a nice size hiatal hernia and I have an angulated sleeve (it's twisted).The food is not exiting properly or timely. It causes the back up in the sleeve and the gerd. It is also like I have a pouch at end of sleeve. I am in Woodbridge....

Again, I think our programs vary per surgeon. That's great if the pay provide your NUT Appts are no cost! They do but it's not free lol!

Wow I haven't paid anything out of pocket yet and I completed the nutritionist classes abd the psyc. They sent my info off to insurance on monday so I am waiting now. Was only told I would have to pay $100 per day for hospital. Idk weather to expect a bill for the rest or if it was included in the "program" Are you basic or standard because I swear the copayment is more than $100. Are you having surgery at a Center of Excellence?
