  3. No regrets whatsoever. I wanted the sleeve but my surgeon would not do it bc of GERD. I am very happy with rny.
  4. We have been married for 10 years and I have never even been close to his weight and I am now 1 pound lighter. Having this surgery was one of the best decisions of my life!

  9. Only people who have not had the surgery could think this is easy. I didn't have this surgery until I was 50, and I regret not having it when I was younger. I missed out on a lot of living because of my weight. I'm so sorry you don't have support from loved ones. It is so helpful. I'm glad you reached out here. There are many here who understand and will cheer you on.
  10. This is my biggest fear because I am also able to eat everything although I don't push it with sugar or fried foods. I don't want to know if I dump on sugar because I am afraid I won't and will start eating eat. Good luck finding a solution.
  11. My understanding is they repair those while they are doing the surgery if they need to.
  12. Check with your surgeon but mine told me to drink diluted juice ( I.e. Apple) if low

  14. I hit onederland today. I have not been here for over 20 years !!! I am so excited. When I started this journey I never believed I would ever see this again. This surgery has really given my life back .
  15. I had one while I was in the hospital. They took it out before I left the hospital. I woke up withi it after the surgery.
  16. I did 2 weeks of Optifast preop. It got easier after the 4 the day. I kept reminding myself of the purpose of it and it helped me get through. The sugar free syrups really helped. Coconut with the chocolate shake was my favorite. It tested like liquid almond joy. I liked the bars as well but did not like the Soups. Good luck!

  18. It is much easier post op. I looked forward to every new phase but it felt doable. Good luck- it is totally worth it!
  19. I am almost 8 months out and had my first cortisone shot in my knee last week. It was a lifesaver! No NSAIDS except voltaren gel because I put it directly on the knee.
  20. For me the left side was where they put the biggest instruments so it took the longest to stop hurting. It was exactly one month and I woke up and the pain was gone. Hang in there it will get better.

  22. I have bcbs federal (standard option) and had my surgery July 2013. I lost initially during the preop stage but then gained a few pounds of it back. I did not have any problems with approval. I lost during my 2 week liquid diet. My surgeon's office told me if I gained during that stage they may extend the liquid diet. Good luck with your journey.
  23. Before my hysterectomy I was extremely short of breath because I was extremely anemic. I also craved ice which I found out was also a sign of anemia. I hope you feel better soon.
