  1. I had my surgery July 23. The gas was very uncomfortable but I promise it does get better.
  2. Mine was 3 1/2 hours but that included 45 minutes getting rid of adhesions.
  3. First 2 meals after clear liquid diet. A little more then 1/4 cup of strained cream of mushroom soup with melted mozzarella cheese for lunch and a little less than 1/4 cup of mushed of low fat cottage cheese. It was fabulous!!
  4. I think most people are terrified. You got this... Here's to a smooth recovery!
  5. Mine went well too! On to full liquids. I had a little more then 1/4 cup of strained cream of mushroom soup with some melted mozzarella cheese melted in it. It was fabulous! I have to wait 2 more weeks to have an egg but I finally feel I have turned the corner. I also am down 28 pounds since the start of this journey. Glad you are doing well!
  6. I can so relate! It has only been tonight that I didn't think that very thought. I hope it gets better for you. Maybe we r just having an extremely bumpy start which will be a distant memory a year from now. I'm 7 days post op.
  7. I woke up from the surgery with the binder on. My husband has to help me get it on. Make sure the tag is in the middle of the back. It helped when I put it on standing up. I am now getting a rash from it so a nurse told me to put it over a thin thirty. Mine does bunch up sometimes.hope this helps.
  8. I think this is normal. I have has the same problem but found the binder helped. I had surgery on 7/23 and that pain seemed to start lessening yesterday.
  9. Thanks Pittguy. This is getting depressing. Hoping things will smooth out soon.
  10. I'm 6 days post op and keep feeling nauseous is there anything to help? I'm on clear liquids and take phenergan when I can't stand it but it knocks me out for hours and then I don't drink? Any suggestions? This is really bumming me out.
  11. I feeling the same..surgery was Tuesday.. The pain is intense and I'm having problems taking the pills. I'm doing the best I can with fluids but feeling miserable.
  12. Glad u r doing so well! I had a rough start but think I am turning a corner. All temps of fluids are fine with my pouch. Not walking much yet but my nurse manager said it would take me longer bc my hemoglobin went low. My husband has been phenomenal and a drill sgt with the fluids lol.
  13. Home today. Rough time. Incision site would nt stop bleeding. Had to pack it. Took forever to urinate i was on the verge of being cathed again. Lots of pain. Hope im done with the glitches

  15. Well tomorrow is the big day! I was panicked yesterday but feeling more calm today. Now that i am on clear liquids, i miss the optifast shakes lol. Bowel prep starts at 4- not looking forward to that. Good luck to everyone having surgery this week. I'm looking forward to sitting on the loser's bench with all of you.
  16. That's 20 pounds since starting this journey.
  17. Yes I asked about broth and my nut said yes. That really helped me. I've lost 20 pounds.
  18. I was on 14 days of Optifast but could also have lettuce, cucumbers, celery, sf Jello and sf Popsicles. A lot of ppl say the preop diet is the hardest part. It certainly has not been fun! Some ppl have to do 30 days. I don't know if I could have done that.
  19. Good luck- it does get easier. I'm on the last day of shakes. Clear liquids tomorrow and then loser's bench on Tues. We all got this!!!
