  1. Thanks for making the list!
  2. Welcome winitown! This is a great site. You will find lots of information and support. Do you have a surgery date?
  3. Wow! Amazing! Such an inspiration for us preops.
  4. How did the IV work out? Glad you are doing so well .
  5. Alright! I knew there had to be more of us lol. I start my 2 week optifast diet on 7/9. This is feeling more real as it gets closer but I have so many appts. Scheduled before the surgery, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with the time I have to take off from work. I have a 2 hour exercise class, a 4 hour education class, preop testing appt, optifast class and a final appt with the surgeon. These are all on different days. This with the time off for surgery will wipe out all of my leave time but I think it is worth it. .
  6. We are on deck! Are there any other July surgeries? I'm on for July 23. Ready to start really living....
  7. Glad u r doing ok!
  8. Good luck! Update when u can. I'm sure u will do fine.
  9. Good luck Jacqueline! I'll be sending good thoughts your way!
  10. Thanks so much for the responses and advice. I try to drink tons of water before and have run my arm under warm water but never thought of asking for a warm compress. I will definitely ask and am going to bring one with me to the preop bloodwork. When I woke up from my last surgery I had bandages on both forearms and my right hand. The IV was in my left hand.
  11. Hi everyone. Ever since I got my date I have been worrying about weird things about the surgery. I have terribly hard veins to find. It's so bad I was sent home when I went for blood work bc they couldn't get one. I had to come back another day. For my stress test, egd etc they have done the IV in my hand. Has anyone had the IV in your hand for surgery? Thanks
  12. Ditto on the list. Good luck- you will do great!
  13. So sorry for your loss Elli'smommy. That is sodas.
  14. I got my date today! July 23. Had a wave of so many emotions but mostly excited. I'm glad to be a part of your group .
  15. I started this process in January, finished everything in April and am still waiting for a date. My program is very slow. I had hoped for surgery in April, then May, and then June. Now I am praying for July! Hopefully I will be with you guys on the loser's bench.
  16. Did you drink a lot of caffeine? I know when I quit caffeine before I had massive headaches and felt terrible but it does get better.
  17. I'm still preop and this is a major concern for me. My knees are my biggest problem and I use meloxicam and voltaren gel. I'm supposed to be able to keep using the voltaren gel after surgery.
  18. Hi tknechtges and Sharona. I have been approved for surgery and am waiting for a date. It will probably be July.
  19. I take hctz (water pill) for high blood pressure. I asked my PCP when I would be going off of it and he said you won't. Has anyone taken this after surgery? Did it increase your risk for dehydration? I'm still preop but thought I would go off of this before my 2 week preop liquid diet. My nut also mentioned this at my appt. I am going to ask my surgeon but wondered if anyone has any info here. Thanks
  20. I am with Summa as well. Dr. Dan is my surgeon. I have finished everything and am waiting for a date. Tinkycheeks is also with Dr. Dan. Welcome aboard! Who is your surgeon?
  21. Hi catiegirly. We're neighbors. Where are you having your surgery and do you have a date or did u already have it?
  22. I had to have the company that supplies my cpap send them the pressure. I had just had a recent titrate study within the past 6 months so I'm not sure if that made a difference.
