My friend who is almost nine months out said we will all lose the most in the first month. So we all have to learn to be patient I guess! :-)

Hello! Welcome. I know it helped me to focus on the fact I wasn't a slave to food anymore. Now I have more time to explore things that interest me and spend more time with people I love or even meet new people. As I lose weight I am feeling healthier, less self-concious and more energetic. All of this is much more life affirming than life depleting junk food. Hang in there....allow yourself to mourn and then think of all the positive changes.

I would suggest one new thing at a time....just like soft solids.

Congratulations. That's awesome!

I was lucky because my doctor only required Clear Liquids in the hospital and then liquids until week two. After surgery I had no appetite at all so it was very easy. I didn't have to do a liquid pre-op diet at all.

I am the same way. I figure I eat so little now it needs to be as high quality and healthy as possible.

Hello sleevers,
I have a question, and please don't think that I am trying to be disgusting, or anything like that, but I need to know if others are experiencing this as well. This is to see if what I am going through is as expected.
Here is the question,
After the sleeve surgery, into post 3 week, has anyone one else experience very strong burning acidic bowel movements?
I haven't experienced this. Sounds painful. Have you talked to your doctor about it?

According to my documentation pot pie should probably not be tried until between weeks 6-8.

My doctor prescribed me Tylenol with codeine to take home with me from the hospital. Safe but could upset your stomach if taken without food. And there's the Constipation thing.

Gaining weight after surgery is completely normal....and each person loses it at different rates. I lost my 7 extra pounds in four days.
-
My doctor told me to take one or two sips every 15 minutes. Right after surgery it will be impossible to get all the fluids you need...just do your best. It gets easier over time.

I walk as much as I'm able. Some days I get really tired quickly so I don't push it....but it's getting easier and better each day.

My dr. said NOTHING but Tylenol ever! ..... Because everything else can cause ulcers for sleeved patients.... Quickly.

My nutritionist said one Protein Shake per day and to get the rest of my Protein from lean protein choices. I get anywhere from 600- 900 calories per day. I've gotten 1100 calories on two occasions but I had two Protein Shakes that day.

1 package FF SF cheese cake pudding mix1 cup FF milk
1 cup FF Plain Greek FF yogurt
1 cup FF Cool Whip
whip it all together and chill 2 hrs then serve.
By my calcuations via MFP it should work out to about
61 cal. per 1/2 cup
0 fat
4.2 g Protein
2.1 g Sugar

I say not bad and is so delicious

I had my two week post op appt with surgeon yesterday and I get to go to Stage III soft solids!! I definitely can't eat as much as I did on liquids but it was sooo nice! That tuna salad and deviled egg were sooooo good. And the strawberry and two bites of nectarine were tasty too!

So sorry to hear about your struggle. I know many people have done self-pay in Mexico with great results. Would that be an option for you?

Sharp Pain In My Side And Now There Is A Lump.

I'm so glad to hear other people have experienced the "lump" thing. I have the same thing. I am three weeks post op and my Dr. said it's nothing to worry about. It's just weird to me to feel that lump.
