  1. I'm still preop, but I've been wondering about long term issues that may arise. I read somewhere that the new stomach may produce more acid and eventually lead to a stomach ulcer resulting in possibly having to remove the remainder of the little stomach that's left. Has anyone else researched this? It's worrying me. Any advice/input would be appreciated
  2. Yes, I know exactly how you feel. I don't have anywhere to borrow the money from, I'm having to save every dime! I'm determined to go this summer though! I have to
  3. I actually asked about this the other day! I was told that he sutures over the 3 lines of staples. Here is a pic of the equipment he uses.
  4. Awwww thanks! Hopefully this summer sometime! I'm still saving up.
  5. That's awesome! I wish that my family was supportive like that! Soooo glad that you are able to have the surgery now. who is your doctor?
  6. Dr. Aceves is the only Dr. that I can say I'd be 100% comfortable with. There are a few other doctors that I have considered, but questioned the hospital staff, etc. I've just decided to go with my gut and go with Aceves
  7. The only thing that made me somewhat uncomfortable about going to Dr. Ponce is that he doesn't speak English, but I've read wonderful reviews from people that have went to him! I am leaning towards Dr. Aceves in June if I can get the money saved up!
  8. Hello! I am aiming for June sometime with Dr. Aceves. still trying to save up money
  9. So, I've been trying to convince my family that having surgery in Mexico is fine despite all of their efforts for me to not go. Then a lady that works with my stepfather went to Mexico, had the Lapband and is in the hospital here in the US with major complications. They aren't expecting her to make it. So now my family is freaking out on me even more about going down there. I'm not sure who her surgeon was, but I'm trying to find out. But still, complications can arise regardless here in the states or Mexico! Last night my mom just looked at me shaking her head and said "Well, no Mexico surgery." I just stared at her and told her that I was still doing it. It's my life and my decision and I'm not changing my mind. It's really disappointing when your family refuses to support you, and tries to sabatoge you in every way possible :/
  10. So, with a clot you just can't help it? If you get one in the wrong place you're just screwed or what? :/ I'm scared about this
  11. Is there an extra charge to upgrade to Florence
  12. If that's the case then I will not be able to go to him.
  13. I was interested in Ponce, but had a hard time getting replies as well. I did finally get one, but took several attempts. I'm certain Dr. Ponce is a wonderful surgeon, and I have heard great things about Trish, just the lack of communication is what made me look elsewhere.
  14. Congrats! Which doc?
  15. I decided today was a good day to go ahead an just start eating a little healthier, cutting out sodas and all the sugary junk I eat all the time. I did good up until about 4pm, then I felt like crap. I mean, just awful. My mouth was all dry, I felt dizzy, I felt like I was going to be sick. So I got me a sweet tea and immediately felt a lot better. This is ridiculous. I try to do better but my body freaks out and makes me feel awful.
