Ok so I'm having surgery out of state, in Louisiana where my best friend lives and will help care for me after surgery.
I know the first week I can't drive back bc I have an an appt at 1 week out anyway. And then again at 1 month so I'm thinking of staying the entire month anyway.
Anyway I have a 9 hour drive back to Ga and I'm thinking it'll be at least 2 weeks before I can take such a long trip, especially driving myself, if not longer?
I'll talk to the Dr about this Monday but wanted to get someone else's input that maybe has experience?

I was sleeved on 06/12. My surgery weight was 276, I am now 250. I've officially entered my first stall,been the same weight for a week. I'm 34, and 5-09. I live in Louisiana. I can be your sleeve buddy

I had my drain for 3 days... Wasn't really bothersome and it didn't hurt when the nurse pulled it out.. She told me to breathe deep and then exhale and she would pull a it out lil by lil.. After 3 breaths it was out and I was absolutely shocked by how long it was.... I was like " ALL THAT WAS IN MY BODY??!!" She laughed and said "YEP!"
I tell ya... Our bodies are truly amazing!! btw.. did I mention that I love my sleeve??!!
3 months out as of yesterday and down 50 lbs..... Total of 70 lbs since with my pre-op diet!!! I feel absolutely amazing!!!!

I'm scheduled for the 18th too! I'm not gonna lie..im getting nervous (but excited). Good luck to you!!

So I'm trying to make I don't forget anything I may need at the hospital since I live 2 hours away and I don't want any company its not like if I forget something I can run get it. I'm not sure if I'm forgetting anything important or not so every body help me out. Maybe my list will help you too. O.k I have tooth paste/tooth Brush, pillow and snuggie, panties/socks x2, 1 change of clothes for the ride home, p.j pants/robe for walking the halls, also slippers, deo, hair brush, Shampoo and conditioner if you are like me you will want to shower, chap sticks for the dry lips after surgery, my meds just incase they need them, cell phone charger, and gas x strips. Heard they are much needed after the surgery. Please let me know if I'm missing anything or if I'm over board. Lol thanks sleeve friends.

Same here. Calmer today than I have been in weeks. Taking it as a sign I made the right choice.

No regrets at all. The most surprising part of life post-sleeve is how much I realize I used to think about food and now I don't. I'd wake up in the morning and think about what to have for Breakfast, while eating breakfast I'd be planning lunch, at lunch I'd be wondering about dinner. Now I hardly think about food at all!

You guys are so awesome. Believe me, I'd give this a 1 in 10 chance of working out -- I'm not a doormat.
He's apologized for what he said and what he did, but the lack of respect and the lies are just not okay with me. I've never considered myself someone with self-esteem issues, so I wish I could say I should have read the signs and realized what a selfish ass he was capable of being... But I'm shocked and our friends and family are absolutely floored by his behavior. Even his guy friends are on my side. I've kicked him out already and have told him that the burden to resolve my trust issues are on him. He's playing nice for now, but if I had to write down my reasons for staying versus my reasons for leaving, one side would be MUCH longer than the other. Can you guess which side?
I don't believe in staying married just for our daughter's sake, but I do want to know that I can tell her years from now that I gave him a chance, even if he didn't deserve one.

He had an affair while you were in the hospital? Now that's just wrong on so many levels. His excuse is completely bogus. I hope you find happiness and good luck to you in your continued sleeve journey.

All I have to say i that what he told you is just a lie, and excuse to cover his actions. I for one am an adamant supporter of every story having two sides but his story just plain stinks. When you need him the most he ups and fools around on you.
Only you can make the decision of what you want out of it, to heal or not. Otherwise just dump his sorry ass and move on. Sorry to be blunt but I just really, really hate people who play games and lie.
I've been married 30 years and there has been a LOT of times it would of been easy to stray, opportunities have presented themselves or I could of MADE an opportunity. I have NOT strayed as I value my marriage, my wife and the solidity that it gives both of us.

I am having my surgery on the 25th here in New Orleans, LA!!!! Good luck to all. I began my pre-op diet on the 11th as well

Decided to have a pedicure today, so I'll have nice feet for surgery. Wouldn't want them to talk about me while I'm out of it.

Yeah we are all in this together I say we keep up with each other I am nervous but I just want to do well and be able to recover good from surgery anything they want from me I surrender LOL including my craving for a pickle and tuna sandwich LOL nice liquid Decaf tea with mint is helping me get through this and with of course the grace of g-d
