  1. Congrats and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  2. I'm thinking that the protein count by volume would be increased, meaning 1/2 cup of strained (Greek) yogurt would have the same protein as 3/4 or 1 cup of regular yogurt. So the actual protein count doesn't go up, but it does stay the same even though the volume has decreased. Maybe this is a question for my NUT. :-)
  3. I was down there today for my psych eval. I should have paid you a visit! :-)
  4. Well, I'm not insane! :-) Cleared by psych. My biggest surprise was how helpful the dietician was. I learned a lot and I'm really excited!
  5. I've never had surgery, but my wife itched something terrible for weeks after her laparascopic gallbladder surgery.
  6. For years, I have made "Greek" yogurt by draining regular yogurt in a strainer overnight. The thickness and texture is the same as the Greek yogurt they now have at the store. My question: Since this is cheaper than buying Greek yogurt, does anyone know if the homemade version would have the same protein and carb content of the store-bought?
  7. Best wishes and happy sleeving!
  8. Sitting in the waiting room. Dietician, exercise physiologist, psych eval, and ekg coming up! See you on the other side.
  9. Best wishes! I'm seeing Dr. Broussard at WeightWise. It's a great place!
  10. It's the same operation. They just use a multi-functional tool that enables them to go in with just a single incision. (Maybe two -- one for the camera?)
  11. 1) Freaking out when I go to someone's house for a barbecue and all they have is flimsy lawn chairs with a weight limit of 200. 2) Having to order all of my clothes online because stores don't stock my size. 3) Sweating. 4) Thigh chafing. 5) Not going to amusement parks because I can't ride the rides anyway.
  12. I have BCBS Oklahoma but mine has a total obesity exclusion, so there was no hope of getting anything approved. So...I'm no help at all! :-)
  13. This is, unfortunately, true. I went on a purple koolaid bender once and had green poop for days!
  14. Welcome! I'm pre-op as well. This is a great place to get all your questions answered.
  15. Reminds me of the time my wife had a gallbladder ultrasound and the tech kept telling us he saw the ghost of our miscarried baby in the corner of the room. Yeah....I had some words for him...
  16. I've thankfully never experienced one and hope never to, but I'm glad for you that it wasn't a leak!
  17. Another question. I do great all day, but once 9:00 hits, I feel like I'll die if I don't eat something bad! What do you do for nighttime hunger?
  18. Sounds crazy, but I enjoy pickle juice! Maybe a sip or three will satisfy your craving?
  19. I started my pre-op diet today and downloaded MyFitnessPal. I can see how it will be very helpful and I plan to continue using it.
