  1. As a hubby, I can tell you that yours is probably as worried as you (if not more so) and he's trying to make himself feel better by asking lots of questions. My advice is to let him ask away. He'll come around, and eventually he's bound to have exhausted his list of questions! :-)
  2. On my list of things to do before I can get a surgery date is lose 10% of my body weight, or 36 pounds. My question is...how did you do it before your surgery? Any help is appreciated: meal ideas, carb/calorie info, etc. Thank you! (I'm self-pay; the weight loss is doctor's order, not a requirement from an insurance company.)
  3. First appointment today! I'm so excited! And I just can't hide it! I'm about to lose control and I think I like it! I like it!
  4. First -- Happy Surgiversary! The last time I attempted to ride a roller coaster, I was 320 (I'm 6'2") and had to take the walk of shame. However, I think you're right that a lot of it is how the weight is distributed. But holy crap, you've lost 245 pounds! BFD if you can't fit in a roller coaster yet. You've done amazingly well!
  5. Looks great! Although I must say that when I first saw your pic I thought, "My God, that's a huge fork!" Then I realized it's on your tablecloth. :-)
  6. Do you mind saying who your surgeon was? I have my first appointment with Dr. Broussard Friday!
  7. Ooo! A somersault! Now I have something else to add to my list!
  8. Definitely! For me it's riding roller coasters and going to Water parks! Sounds silly, but I haven't been able to do either of those things in years.
  9. I totally agree with Rootman. Plication seems like much too much of a gamble.
  10. 50 pounds is 50 pounds any way you look at it! You should be proud! The rest will come off -- just keep doing your thang. :-)
  11. Awesome! That's the kind of thing I'm really looking forward to after surgery. I'm more excited about the NSVs than the SVs! :-)
  12. Best wishes for happy outcomes. It sounds like an adventure! :-)
  13. Do you grind the oats or leave them whole?
  14. I know exactly how you feel. I don't even have a surgery date yet but I'm self pay so I know it will be relatively quick. I can't stop eating!!!! I need to quit, but easier said than done, I suppose.
