Fills
hi, My dr. did the fill in his office.. but it is right next to the hospital. Some drs. do prefer to do it flouro, but i guess some can navigate without.. I guess it just depends on who you go to.. Before I left the office i had to make sure i could drink some water and keep it down.. I had no problem. The only time i had flouro was after surgery.. That was cool watching the stuff go down.. Anyway, your right March is right around the corner and I hope I can feel more restriction.. thanks for the replys.. Good luck to us all!!!

Fills
hi, I just had my first fill on Feb. 9th.. It didin't go bad, but the dr. had a heck of a time getting to the right spot.. He finally made it after about 8 tries and boy was i black and blue after that episode..But it didn't hurt, really!!! it made me laugh, i felt bad for the doc.. !! I have to say.. I feel like i can't feel any restriction.. I go for my 2nd fill on March 5th.. I guess i had anticipated feeling more of a restriction, but not.. I almost feel like I am eating everything insight.. YIKES!!! I don't know whats wrong.. I am eating the wrong foods too.. I guess I need to get back on the stick and do what i was told to do.. I just think if i felt some more restriction, i wouldn't be eating as i do.. i had lost 36lbs. but i am counting the lbs that i lost on my liquid diet too.. Oh well. just wanted to let you know that the first fill was okay.. Help me out if you can.. :think

been banded
Hi Carol and Sultana, Yes , this is Becky here.. I got a kick out of reading all newsy little bits on everyone..Yes, we were all banded on the same day.. I can't believe how different our doctors are.. Mine told me to stay away from beef for atleast 10 months.. AND YES, i would eat more than 1 rib.. I had baby back ribs the other day and I ate at least 5.. OINK!!! I get my fill on Feb. 9th.. I can't wait.. I feel like I can eat like crazy.. but actually i'm not.. I guess.. For breakfast, I have about 1/2 c. of cottage cheese, lunch 1 cup of soup, dinner is fish or chicken or something and veggies (no raw veggies yet), and a few bites of rice or potato.. and then i'll have a diet fudgesicle.. I lost alittle over 23lbs from the 2 weeks on prior liquids and then a week after for my post-op.. I can't wait to see how i did on the 9th.. I had alittle problem last night with some TOUGH chicken.. it passed, but I sure was uncomfortable.. Well, lets keep each other up to date on what's happening.. Good luck and we all shall be thinner and healthier in no time!!!

no insurance
Hi I had my surgery done at Huntington Beach Hospital.. They have a Bariatric Unit there.. I had great care.. They will work with you if you don't have a doctor to do the pre-op tests.. This a called the NEW PROGRAM @ Huntington Beach. The cost was $15,200.00 and it covered everything, the night stay in the hospital, doctor, anestigiolist(sp).. The staff is wonderful, you can call them anytime and they can answer your questions for you.. The price also includes ALL your fills.. you can check there website at www.thenewprogramhbh.com I was very happy and I was just banded there on 12-20-03.. Good luck..

We all share in some sort of dream fantasy.. and we shall all overcome this weight battle. Our fantasy will come true -we can make it happen. Won't be long and the mushy food will start.. I found egg beaters were wonderful, fish is great.. You just have to experiment.. You will do fine.. Keep posting and let us know how you are.. I was just recently banded on 12-29-03..So i'm still new at this.. Congrats again.. Becky

Snoring
Thank you for the reply.. I had only lost about 25lbs.. Maybe that was enough to do it.. I'm just glad I don't wake the neighborhood anymore-and the dogs...!! LOL!! thanks

Snoring
Hello all, I have an odd question.. I used to snore, quite alot, and quite loud before the surgery.. Well, now my husband is amazed.. I no longer snore.. My husband said that since the surgery i have slept very peaceful and quiet.. I know before surgery they asked if i had sleep apnea. I said "no", my husband felt "yes.".. So the doctors said that they would watch and see how losing some weight helps.. But what surprises me is the fact that it stopped - right after surgery.. Anybody else have this wonderful thing happen to them..

eating too much
Hi All, I am on pureed foods and I feel like I may be eating too much.. Can that happen.. I don't even feel like i have a band.. I must be healed up pretty well or all those liquids have just gone through fine.. and now the pureed.. I read where a meal should consist of less than 5 oz. a sitting.. well I think I'm doing that.. I guess maybe i'm just getting scared of eating.. I don't want to go through this and then fail!!! ugh!! I feel I have more confidence in myself than that.. I don't get my first fill until Feb. 9th and I am to start on a regular diet on Jan. 25th.. those were my rules from surgery.. I believe everyone has similiar ones.. I just wonder if anyone else out there worries about overeating again.. I really don't think i am, but sometimes i have a hard time telling whether i'm full or not.. Good grief, enough of my babbling.. thank you in advance..

feeling bloated
Hi fellow bandsters, I was wondering has anyone had trouble with gum and walking.. I usually chew gum while I walk because I get so dry. I thought of taking a water bottle along, but I was at work and I thought it would be a quickie.. I got back to my desk, took a drink of water and I felt like i had a HUGE AIR POCKET in my stomach or throat.. Is that normal.. ?? Should I give up the gum???? Also, I am 11 days post op and I am wanting real food.. I opened a can of tuna last night and ate about a teaspoon full.. I just needed something to chew i guess.. It's getting REALLY HARD on FULL LIQUID,, I can start really soft food on Sun, but I sure hope me cheating a few days early won't hurt anything. I am taking it slow.. Is anyone else having these problems or questions. Thank you in advance.. Becky

1st post-op
Hi again, Well i had my first post op.. I am doing great.. I have to go back to WORK!!! UGH! I knew it wouldn't last.. I had lost 23lbs, so I was pleased by that. Alot of liquid!!! LOL. I have my first FILL Feb. 9th.. I can't wait.. I am still on Full Liquid until Monday and then i go to cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, fish, pureed food, i guess whatever is soft and goes down easy, but since i haven't had a fill, i don't really know what i should feel like.. Hope everyone else is doing well. I have to tell you.. I am loving this site.. I love to read all the stories and how we are all different.. At least this way , you definetly do no feel alone.. thanks for being here.
