Crunches, leg ups, planks and cardio for stomach.
Squats, leg raises, dead lifts (light weight), side and front lunges... yoga and pilates are great also for women

It's ok. Don't be too hard on yourself. When you go to the doctor why don't you ask them about Optifast. I had to drink shakes and eat bars for two weeks before surgery then two days before surgery I cheated as my "last meal" thing. You need to try to really stay strong and tell yourself "I can do this. This is temporary and for my surgery. I might be hungry now, but it will help for the long run. I can do this. If they can, I can." It's all about your mind set. Message me if you want to talk more.

    Hi Everyone,
My day is also the 13th and I see that many of us are going in on the 10th. I will be thinking of you all tomorrow. Please let us know how you are doing. I totally get holding a body image of yourself that's smaller. In our minds we see ourselves as a more normal weight, perhaps the way we are supposed to be? Melissa, I totally don't understand the non-supporters telling us it's the "easy way out". I heard that from a co-worker today. What's easy about having a medical procedure, fasting before and after for weeks and changing you're whole life? I don't understand why people would want us to stay heavy and die an early death? And who cares about loose skin?! You just saved your organs, your heart and liver! Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with wanting to look your best. But firstly, let's do this to save our lives and do everything we've ever dreamed of.

Same here! I am 7 weeks post op and NEVER hungry. The liquids are more tolerable post op because you don't feel like eating. However...it is hard to get them all in sometimes. Try your best and your recovery will be that much faster.

Hey there! You can just call me Blossom. I'm 21 years old and I was sleeved on July 2nd! My surgeon is Dr. Neil Floch and he is a God send. Very kind, funny and caring man and I am so grateful that he did my surgery. He made me feel so safe before getting the procedure, if someone else was doing it I probably would have backed out. Hm, I'm not sure what else to write so I'll just say whatever comes to mind.
Being only 4 days out, I am doing surprisingly well. I figured I would have more pain and be this miserable bedridden person, but I’m the exact opposite. I did have very strong pains due to the air they pumped me up with, it was beyond uncomfortable, but that feeling is all gone. That was actually worse than the actual procedure itself. What helped was all the walking I did. A couple hours after surgery and I was already walking around the east and west wing of the 6th floor of the hospital lol
The first day I came home I was weak and tired because I no longer had the IV keeping me hydrated, but now I’m waking up early making sure I take my Vitamins and the right amounts of fluids as well as walking around every couple hours I feel fantastic. A little sore, but fantastic. I can’t wait for finally get out there, work out and live my life the way I was meant to live it. No more couch potato here! Before I was embarrassed, I felt like getting this surgery was the easy way out, but it’s not, it’s a helpful tool and takes a lot of hard work if you want to see real results. Also, I’ve already lost 7lbs! whoot! Lol

Thank you for your posts! The majority of my anxiety comes from the fact that I've had some major health scares/complications in the last few years. Super long story, but basically I had a complicated pregnancy (blood pressure issues, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia post delivery) followed by a gallbladder surgery 4 months later (surgery itself went okay, but had to have several endoscopic procedures from lingering pain-diagnosed with sphincter of odi disorder) Moral of the story is I feel like i'm cursed with medical procedures, and I don't want a leak or worse! But you are right, I need to stay focused and positive. I want to better my life for myself as well as my family! One day at a time.......

Does anyone else experience a slight sharp pain when they sip just a little too much liquid? I'm still trying to teach myself how much I can have, but there are some times where I don't think I'm sipping too much then my stomach tells me otherwise like, "Nice try, slim. Better luck next sip. *insert sharp pain here*."

I totally agree. You will worry yourself sick the night before but after its over, you will be like "thats it?" Take it one day at a time and you will learn the new eating habits as you go along. You wont even be in that much of a hurry. The time will pass and you will be back to regular food in no time at all. Take it easy, slow and steady wins the race!
