Post op two days
Thanks for the input. I have noticed that is not as bad as it was in the beginning and that burping is easier.

Post op two days
Hi all. Well I had my surgery two days ago. I came home last night. I feel so much better today than I did on the day of surgery. I hope it continues to improve at this rate. Right now I am still on clear liquids. Monday I can start full liquids. It seems like I have taken very little in but yet I am not dehydrated. Two ounces of jello and a sugar free popsicle. Also water and some juice. I want to be so careful not to develop a leak. Right now sometimes I get a gurgly feeling when I drink. Do we always have this or is that something that subsides with time?

First work out post-op
Have you tried sipping on unjury (20Gm protein) or isopure (40 Gm protein)?

soooo annoyed !
I'm so sorry for all you have gone thru. I had a few set backs with insurance and was very frustrated...I can't imagine your frustration level. You WILL get thru this and reach you goal...unfortunately if we want the insurance to pay for it we have to jump thru all of their hoops and them some. Good luck!

Day One Pre-Op Liquid Diet
I wish I could have liquid yogart. I am on my five day clear liquids only diet. Today is day three and it has amazed me how I have only had a few hunger pains and usually a nice bowl of hot broth helps. Even with all the ungury (mixed with water), jello, juice and broth I am only getting about 500 calories in per day. BUT...on the high note...I have dropped about 8 # in the first two days.

Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy
Congrats on getting a date. Yes...the co pays and extras do add up...even with insurance. I was eleated...as you are...when I first got my date. I am doing my five days clear liquids now as my surgury is this Thursday the 10th. I am getting more nervous about the actual surgery...I just can't wait to get thru it and hope to God that it turns out ok. Good luck!

Liquid Diet and Pre Op Weight Loss
I am having surgery on the 10th. I have to be on a clear liquid diet for five days prior...my surgeon said that will help shrink the liver away from an area they have to work around.

Sooo tired!
I am still pre op but all of my classes and the surgeon said to expect to be fatigued and tired the first three months due to your caloric intake going from around 3000 calaries a day to around 500-600 a day. They also said that around three months the honeymoon phase begins cause your are feeling real good and looking good too. Look forward to that!

Cant stop eating!
I can relate. I start my clear liquids in six days....I have been trying to think of differant foods I want to have before then...have quite a list. Now I have the flu....I can't smell or taste....is someone trying to tell me something?

10 days post op... Mixed emotions
Hang in there....I was told by the nutritionalist that the foaming ...bubbles is normal and gets better when you increase your fluid intake.

FLU
I am freaking out. Only eleven days to surgery...I have the flu. Been fighting it for one week...it HAS to go away soon. I really don't want them to cancel my surgery or postpone it.

Low Energy Levels Post-Op
I am still preop....ten days to go. My surgeon said to expect very low energy level and fatigue for the first three months after that they call it the honeymoon phase cause you feel so good then. They also said the we will be so tired because most people are going from around three thousand calories a day to around five hundred. Give it some more time.

33 BMI and scheduled for VG...
Hi...this has to be your decision and you have to be comfortable with it. I have a BMI orf 37 with hypertension and high cholesterol. I have to attend WL support meetings and I had one person say to me,"I wouldn't even have surgery if I was only 170#". I told her that I might not either but that I am #229. I feel like some people judge me for having the surgery saying....you are pretty the way you are. I explain that I am not having the surgery because I don't feel attractive...i am having it to get healthier. Wether we are #300 or #200....it is a choice that only you can make. I'm scheduled for Jan. 10, 2013. Good luck on your decision.

Extended leak time frame?
Hi...I had my final surgeon visit yesterday and was kind of floored when he mentiioned that with the sleeve you could have a leak in one week, one month or all the way to six months. Has anyone else heard this and has it happened to anyone?
