  3. 25 lbs is AWESOME!!! Congratulations!!!
  4. @nothingwasleft... That's awful...thanks for that info. Will do! How are you doing now?
  5. @cmk99 Those are definitely two items I will be purchasing! Thanks so much for the info. With the condition of our streets in Houston, that pillow will definitely be appreciated! Congratulations!!! Your date is right around the corner!
  6. @banderama... I have the movies and books, but hadn't thought about the sugar free hard candy. Good suggestion. My liquid diet is going GREAT! I'm having to make myself eat - I'm just not very hungry most times. I'm drinking 10 glasses of water daily and getting very creative with my protein shakes. Initially I was adding a little fat-free sugar-free pudding, but now I only use extracts (vanilla, coconut, pineapple, banana) DELICIOUS - a different flavor with every shake. I saw a rum extract today. Can't wait to use that one My doctor allows one meal a day as well. I've also been walking 1 - 2 miles each morning. I haven't weighed myself, but my face looks a little thinner. YES!!!!! Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!
  7. Hello again everyone! My surgery is in 5 days and I'm making my last preparations. Are there any meds, items, etc. that helped to get you through recovery you that I may need but are not usually in the doctor's orders. I already have the Gas-X strips, a heating pad and a body pillow. Also a good variety of broths and other liquids. Anything else??? Did you find yourself wishing you had any particular item/product during recovery?
  8. Congratulations on your band and Im glad you're feeling better. My surgery is in 5 days and I'm praying for a smooth recovery.
  9. Hibiclens can be purchased at Walgreens, CVS, and in the pharmacy section of most grocery stores. The bottle is about 8oz - light teal green with a white top. Costs about $10. Found a $2 Walgreens coupon on google - not sure if it's valid in our area but I'll try it anyway.
  10. I knew I had to get serious when I applied for an additional life insurance policy and was denied because of my weight. I have had to pay a higher premium before, but to be denied was an eye opener. I mean, the insurance company was basically saying chances are so high that I WILL DIE due to problems that could occur as a result of my weight, that they wouldn't cover me even at a higher premium. I will never forget the way I felt when I read that denial letter.
  11. I had my pre-op appt last week with Dr. Reilly and one of the nurses. The instructions I was given was to use Hibicleanse on the morning of surgery. The nurse emphasized not to use it on your face or in your hair because it is extremely drying. For that reason, moisturizer can also be used but only above your neck and below your thighs. There is an instruction packet that you may not have which includes a very important page regarding preparation for surgery. If you don't have it, make sure to contact them. Some medication you have to stop taking days before surgery. I hope this helps
  12. Congratulations!!!! I really like Dr. Reilly as well. He is so patient and answers all of my questions so thoroughly. I actually started this evening - I had a shake for dinner and I still feel full. Even stopped myself from grabbing a bag of chips few moments ago Thanks for the encouragement!!
  13. Thanks guys. I've made up mind that I absolutely will not get on the scale during these two weeks. LOL! Im just going to stick to Dr. Reilly's instructions, listen to the advise I get from you guys, and continue to be excited. I've done my happy dance so many times since my appointment that I may have already lost 10lbs!! LOL!!!
  14. First off, thanks to everyone who shares their experiences on this site. The forums have been so helpful!!! My surgery has been scheduled for July 30th!!!!! YAAAAAAY!!!! Gotta tell you guys, I'm so nervous about this two week diet (which I start tomorrow). 10 lbs in 2 weeks?!?!? Yikes! In fact, I'm about to go out to shop for my shakes & grocery items. I think I can...I think I can...I know I can
