  1. DO NOT PASS GO - DO NOT COLLECT $200 - GO STRAIGHT TO THE ER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. You look GREAT! Keep up the great work.
  3. I am 15 weeks out too (sleeve surgery Oct 3rd) and I am down 44 pounds. I would say you are right on target. At least I think I am on target. 40 pounds in 15 weeks is approximately 2.66 pounds per week. That is normal, healthy weight loss. I have always been a slow loser too, but I don't worry about the amount of weight loss everyweek, just that I am losing and not gaining. I have never been a binge eater; however, I used to take in the largest majority of my calories in the evening and I (like you) find myself eating all day now (stoking the metabolism fire). Good Luck to you! Keep us all posted on your progress.
  4. There is a whole section of this site dedicated to pregnancy after the sleeve. Check out the main page of the forums. I am sure you can find some support in that area. Good luck!
  5. Well said, OTR! I agree more people need to take responsibility for their actions in life. And yes, I was a food addict too! I used to use the cute little name Foodie too, but you are right...it isn't cute. It is just a cute way of saying "kill yourself a little quicker eating junk you don't need!" Thanks for posting what most of feel and know and all should be able to own up to.
  6. I take two prescription strength prenatal vitamins (one morning, one night) daily and it doesn't seem to be helping. Ugh!!!
  7. Very normal to have loose stool, especially if you are only ingesting protein shakes and/or only liquids. It will get better down the road. Hang in there! I assure you it is the BEST thing you will EVER do for yourself! I am 3 months out and down 40 pounds. I would have NEVER lost 40 pounds without the support the sleeve gives me. It is an excellent tool to assist you in the weight loss journey. Good Luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!
  8. What are the names of these products Doctor Oz talked about? Websites too?
  9. Congrats! It will be amazing and awesome for you and your hubby. My husband and I are going on this journey together too! I was sleeved on 10/3/12 and hubby was sleeved 12/19/12. We are both doing great! And we are SO happy we made this choice. You will too! Just remember, DO NOT compare yourself to your hubby. I am 3 months out and down 40 pounds. Hubby is 15 days out and down 30 pounds! Never a fair assessment between men and women but just remember...slow and steady wins the race! Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress. SO happy for you guys!!!
  10. Yes, I take my vitamins religiously and I knew about the hair loss prior to surgery but thought I should wait and see if it happens to me. Well, wouldn't you know it...it did! I will try some Biotin - what doseage are you taking and how often?
  11. Really? hair loss! It is getting so aggravating. I am losing SO much hair. Not in clumps but lots of fine hairs to the tune of 20-50 a day. My hair is really starting to thin out and looks kind of gross. I am three months out (surgery date: 10/3/12). What should I be taking to help with this? Does it ever stop falling out/when can I expect it to stop? And, most importantly...will it grow back in? HELP!!!
  12. Awesome work! Keep up the great motivation. And I agree...we all are looking forward to ONEDERLAND!
  13. I am such a slow loser - I am 3 months out too (October 3rd) and only down 40 pounds. Now, I have worked DAMN hard for every one of those 40 pounds but sure wish it was more! I continue to truck along doing what I am supposed to be doing and watch the weight slowly but surely fall off. I love my sleeve! I know I could have never lost this much weight without it.
  14. I hate to run - always have but thinking your post gives me hope that maybe, just maybe I could learn to love it!
  15. I hear ya - same here. Need to get my New Year mojo back and hit up that gym! Good luck!
  16. I was advised 3 weeks too! Looks like you will have to wait a bit longer...
  17. Congrats! There's no place like home. What day was surgery?
  18. Wow! 68 pounds in 3 months - that is REALLY impressive! I am 3 months out on 1/3/13 and only down 38 pounds so far. I guess some of us are really slow losers. Keep up the great work!
  19. I was sleeved on Oct 3 - down 36 pounds thus far and feeling great about it! My husband got sleeved on 12/19/12. He is doing great, healing nicely and we are on this journey together. Now, here is where the problem lies... Growing up with two brothers I have always been so competitiive. food was always a competition for me. If my brother had 2 hamburgers, I had to eat another hamburger (not b/c I wanted it but I always felt like I couldn't be outdone!) Hence my weight gain in adult life. Part of my success in losing weight thus far with the sleeve was that I was limited in what I could eat (liquids, purees, mushies, etc.) to prevent medical issues. Now that I am able to eat anything I am concerned that I will sabotage my own efforts b/c hubby is losing weight more quickly than I. I don't want to feel like a failure, but let's be quite frank...men can lose weight without even trying...us ladies have a hell of a time getting 1 pound off. Any suggestions on how I can stay motivated and losing when hubby is lapping me with his weight loss? I am happy for he and I to be on this journey together and he is VERY supportive of all my efforts and success thus far. I am more concerned about myself (my own worst enemy...) Any thoughts....
  20. Wow! Hours after surgery being sent home is scary to me. I was in for 2.5 days before being sent home. I agree - you need to REALLY focus on fluids and pumping your ankles to ensure good blood flow. Good Luck!
  21. It varies with every person but I would say 36 pounds (12 pounds per month) is realistic. Good Luck and congrats on your college graduation! Graduating from college is by far the best thing I have ever done for myself (and the sleeve of course too!)
  22. Don't let it discourage you. I have been there too; however, it happened to me at week 7. Now I am at week 11 and have stalled out and can't seem to lose anymore. It will come off. You're body is probably just hanging on to fluids or something, especially being a woman our bodies do crazy things. Hang in there, I promise it will start coming back off again! I understand the frustration though - all the hard work to have a gain. Keep being positive, keep doing the right thing and it will be ok. Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress!
  23. I was having a similiar situation with slow/no weight loss. I started following more of a South Beach diet (very low carb) and the situation has corrected itself. Lots of great resources for low carb and/or South Beach diet. Good Luck!
  24. You look GREAT! Keep up the awesome work. I am down 34 pounds in 10 weeks and hoping the weight loss keeps going. So happy for your success!!!
  25. That is exciting! My hubby is getting sleeved on 12/19/12 (Wednesday) and I was sleeved on 10/3/12. It will be great support!
