  1. I fell off the wagon. It's easy to do when you still have a food addict mind. I lost 143 and gained back 24, but I am refocusing and determined to reach goal. The sleeve works when you work with it.
  2. Trip2thin- I am right there with you. I lost 143 then fell into bad habits and gained 24. After gaining, I swear I felt like 300 pounds all over again. It's sickening and frustrating. I am trying getting back on track. Taking a mindful eating class next week, signed up for a dance class and already down 7 pounds. We are food addicts plain and simple. It will always be a battle. Good luck to you!
  3. Happy Camper- My bariatric surgeon said bmi <30, but primary dr said bmi <28 for a plastics referral. I am so ready.
  4. sleeved 11/28/11 and as of today down 130 pounds! 20 more and I qualify for a breast reduction consult

    One Day Til My Sleeve!

Good luck to you! The first week can be rough- be sure to reach out to others who have gone through the experience. It helps to remind you that you are doing "normal" when you are feeling anything but! You will do great

    Head Hunger!

i had crazy head hunger issues! I was angry and agitated also, which caught me by surprise. I am now 3 months post-op and feel completely different. I can eat pretty much whatever I want but in small amounts. Know that the head hunger and cravings will pass and is a small sacrifice for the greater reward. Good luck!
  7. I just re-read a my post from December. I had forgotten how angry and bitter I was feeling back then. Feels like so long ago. I am now down a total of 90 pounds (40 pre-op and 50 post) and life is good! I rarely overeat or feel sick, I don't really crave foods I can't have, and I love cleaning out the "fat clothes" from my closet! I started a new job last month and am loving it. I feel like I am in control for the first time ever.
  8. Down 90 pounds- almost halfway to my goal weight!

    CA Sleevesters

I still haven't been to this one but this info is from a fellow WLS person on my facebook group: SWASSY meeting every Thursday 7-9pm at Raley's in Fair Oaks (Madison and Hazel) inside event center near the pharmacy.
  10. Hey pdx- I got a job offer this week. I interviewed when I was pre-op. Turns out they did want to hire my old fat self. :tongue2:
  11. I was choosy about who to tell also, but I really don't understand the need to lie or make up a story. This is hard work too, certainly not easy. And if it works, then it was the right choice, so be proud. I am starting a new job next week I have a little anxiety about not only being the "new girl" but also the weird one who can't eat anything.
  12. I went to a New Year's Eve party and had the tiniest sip of white wine. It burned my stomach and scared the bejeezus out of me, so I immediately switched to water. I will be a good girl and wait until 6 months out. But this summer, I am having some vodka!
  13. I was about 3 weeks post-op when I took my boys to a Boy Scout potluck. A room full of teenage boys shoveling food in their faces, plate after plate. Ugh. I had to take a walk.

    Finally Sleeved!

Congrats Christin! I had a suprise hernia repair too. My surgeon said it is very common in obese people. She said there is a natural opening, but the extra fat causes too much pressure on the organs and the opening tears. I have pictures of mine. My first day in the hospital was rough too. Not so much pain, but pressure in the chest and gas. The first week is no fun really, but it gets easier.
  15. Hang in there! The sacrifice is worth the result- that's what I keep telling myself :wink1: My birthday was a month before surgery and my husband bought me a donut maker as a gift. I love him, but wow, I wanted to kill him.
