  1. mine uses a 40. I can eat about 1/4 to 1/2 cup depending on the type of food.
  2. I'm having the same problem. I'm about 5 weeks post-op and have hit a stall. I too am exercising and am often at a deficit for calories. Some days I only consume about 500 calories. I have been adding a Protein shake and am now trying to eat more than three times a day. Like you I can't eat enough during meal times to get my calories up. Especially, heavy foods like meat. I have decided to add a couple of Snacks too. However, I'm worried it will slow my weight loss.
  3. I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time. Good idea to call your doctor.
  4. Thanks for the suggestions and support. I tried a different Protein shake with stevia and this seems to be better tolerated. I also added it to my Fage yogurt and made a yogurt/protein shake. I am worried about my protein intake because I want to start excercising again and need the energy. I'll give the unjury chicken soup a try.
  5. Thanks for your reply. I feel better knowing it is going to improve over time.
  6. I have the same problem. I had surgery June 15th and I am still on liquids. I only consume 150-200 cals per day and maybe 10-20 grams of Protein. Nothing appeals to me except yogurt. I eat the Fage yogurt because it is high in protein. I was able to drink Protein shakes preop too, however now they make me retch. I was able to add some of the Protein powder to my yogurt and it went down okay. Hope you the chicken soup works for you.
  7. Hi All- I was sleeved on June 15, 2011. Yippee! I'm now on liquids, Soups, yougurt, ect. I am able to "eat" about 1/4 cup three times a day, but am only taking in about 100-200 calories per day. Did anyone else have concerns about the lack of calories and Protein? I tried a Protein Drink, but the fake sweetners give me horrible diarrhea. I'm worried my body might start using my lean muscle for energy instead of my fat. Any suggestions or thoughts?
  8. Congrats! Be well and take good care of yourself!
  9. I'm having surgery with Dr. Bagg on June 15th. He has been great. Kaiser-Richmond does not require a pre-op protien shake fast, although we are required to keep up with our 1200 calories per day. I have been about 80% successful and have lost 15 lbs since April 2010. Good luck to you!
  10. I'm scheduled for June 15th. Feeling excited and nervous all at the same time, but ready for this new chapter in my life.
  11. Hi- This is my first post to this site. I have appreciated all the people who share their experiences. Reading posts on this site helped me decide to proceed with the sleeve. Thanks so much! My surgery is scheduled on June 15th at Kaiser Richmond. I'm looking for a support group in Sacramento. Any help would be much appreciated!
