Rojasanoll got a reaction from Bandista in Which Protein?
I still use the costco Premier liquid Protein chocolate shakes. I know most doctors want to wean you off the liquids, it's easier for me to drink a shake and get my Protein. After every fill I stay on liquid shakes for 2 days then start with mushy foods.
Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

make sure you keep yoru doctor's appointment during that first year. Then after you can see the doctor every 6 months or at least yearly. Good care and advice is given often during that first year. You are still learning what to eat and at least weighing in keeps you on par. Not all of us will lose the weight quickly with or without fills. We are all different and some will lose weight very slow. At least YOU are losing weight and learning what food types to eat. It's a learning experience for each of us.
    Happy New Year

Rojasanoll got a reaction from 2muchfun in Slip or stuck
I had to shred meat or cut it in small little cubes to pass. And the couple of 3 times I've been stuck I jumped up and down several jumps, like a plunger effect that you use in a clogged bathroom. If you are stuck you dont add more stuff in the pouch. If I'm out in public I go to restroom\, lock the door and jump up and down. The relief will be in 5 minutes or less. You can feel it with less pressure. meat and some hard steamed veggies witll do a good "stuck" job on me.
    Happy New Year!

Sorry to read about all the problems with your doctor. I do believe there is some truth to band filling. Each patient is different and all bands are not made the same, even from the same company. I'm sure there are several bands in a big lots of bands manufactured wrong and probably don't hold the advertised amount of Fluid. It is important for all of us to know what amount of fluide is in our bands. You do want to know if your band is 1/3 full or 1/2 full. We can corelate this information in how we feel after a fill has been done. Are we too tight or can we barely get the Water down? Most docotrs tell you too stay on liquids for 24 hours after a fill. I usually do this and a bit more. Since band fills from my doctor don't come often, I usually use this period as a cleaning period and stay on liquids for 5 days or so. No soild or even mushy foods. It makes me focus on eating properly if I've been bad. liquid Protein shakes actullay taste so good and some lowfat greek yogurt.
Best wishes and Keep the Faith.

healing everyday and feeling a tad better I hope. It takes time and a bit of getting used to. Soon the liquids will start tasting good to you. Add some spices to the clear broth for additional flavors.

Your body changed lots since the band was installed. Ask the doctor if you received a pre-fill during surgery.

Wow! Awesome mental qualities here. You didn't give up and that's important. Congratulations on attacking yoru situation and staying on course. I think people here think, I get the band and I can eat anything just not as much. If any of us eat the wrong foods over and over even though it might be only 4oz, WE will gain weight.
It's good that you used your senses and selected a doctor that will work for you and be there for any problem.
Best Wishes and Keep the Faith.

on my second band and would do it again in a heart beat. First one failed but I think more of a surgeon failure. Went from 240 to 160 but throwing up all the time. Band removed and of course gained everything back over next six months. New surgeon, new hospital, new band. It's been a year and a half and close to 160 again. But for a year I hate very unhealthy, too many chips and ice cream. You know, all the things you're not supposed to eat. I maintained a steady 180 and just kind of accepted that. This summer I went dairy free and dropped 16 lbs in three months. I don't yo yo diet any more. My goal is 150. The dairy free has been great
My daughter is a bander also. 100 lbs and reconstructive surgery for her. I still don't exercise as much as I should. Blood pressure is normal now with only 1 pill a day. Hoping I can go off cholesterol meds. No knee pain nor ankle pain nor apnea. No regrets except my choice of my first surgeon
