3.5 yrs out/2 bands

Recommended Posts

on my second band and would do it again in a heart beat. First one failed but I think more of a surgeon failure. Went from 240 to 160 but throwing up all the time. Band removed and of course gained everything back over next six months. New surgeon, new hospital, new band. It's been a year and a half and close to 160 again. But for a year I hate very unhealthy, too many chips and ice cream. You know, all the things you're not supposed to eat. I maintained a steady 180 and just kind of accepted that. This summer I went dairy free and dropped 16 lbs in three months. I don't yo yo diet any more. My goal is 150. The dairy free has been great

My daughter is a bander also. 100 lbs and reconstructive surgery for her. I still don't exercise as much as I should. Blood pressure is normal now with only 1 pill a day. Hoping I can go off cholesterol meds. No knee pain nor ankle pain nor apnea. No regrets except my choice of my first surgeon

Wow! Awesome mental qualities here. You didn't give up and that's important. Congratulations on attacking yoru situation and staying on course. I think people here think, I get the band and I can eat anything just not as much. If any of us eat the wrong foods over and over even though it might be only 4oz, WE will gain weight.

It's good that you used your senses and selected a doctor that will work for you and be there for any problem.

Best Wishes and Keep the Faith.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
