12cc in 14cc band
Wow, thats alot of Fluid in a 14cc. I'm only at 6.5cc on a 14cc Allergan Omniform band. I would check with the doctor and remove 1-1.5cc too see if coughing goes away. I will probably max out aroung 8-8.5cc. My surgeon has be slow in giving me any fluid and the last 6 onths has introduced me to more calories per day (1600-1800) but recently I've gained about 7 pounds. So, back to the drawing board and a few days of Protein shakes with salads/soups and I'll be dialed in again. Its been hard for me to stay focused due to work (missile launches at Vandenberg AFC,CA.) around the clock. My body wants rest and sleep and nothing else. Happy Band day people and have a GREAT weekend. But

Scale Intervention
I get on the scale everyday. I didnt before and now i"m paying the price. I dont need a doctor's visit to tell me if I've gained or lost, I damn know. Waiting for a week or end of the month is too late. We've all done this and that's why we belong to this forum. To each his/her own!

hernia repair with band?? Anyone?
I had hernia repaired at same time Lapband was installed. I had more discomfort for 2 days because of the hernia repair than the band. The liquid vicodin for 2 days did the trick. A piece of cake surgery.

UPDATE: After Postponing Surgery
This is a start of strict dieting. You should really think LB and go do it. WE can all lose weight and appear tyo have a handle on it but it's usually temporary at best. Look back and see what has happened in the past. Lose, gain, lose, gain. Best wishes

I lost my job today
Talk with surgeon office. I received 6 months of free post op visits. But my doctor's fees are $300 per visit here in Santa Barbara if you don't have insurance. Best wishes on job hunting.

Why no fruits?
And the fruit skins if not peeled (apples) tends to pulp up above the band opening and stay for long periodss before dropping further into the stomach. This prevents you from eating the good foods and getting the nutrients needed.

bummed
Some doctors (yours and my dr.) are doing it the slow way. Having you understand portions over a long period of time. My doctor doesnt do fills very easily. You almost have to make up something for him to give you a fill. He wants You to do most of the work and eat proper foods. My weeight loss if I'm lucky has slowed to less than 6 pounds a month and some months NO weight loss. Best wishes

Do i even need a fill
My doctor went slow with my fills. He is a hard doctor to get fills. He wants you to decide on certain foods and tehn go to fills if necessary. Right now he has me on a greater calorie intake around 1500-1800 a day. So far, I'm maintaining this input with NO weight gain. I'm not big on exercise, so it's hard to lose weight rapidily. I'm close to 1 year anniversary on my lapband and I'm down around 95-96 pounds. So, I'm happy for this amount. It has been slow the last 6-8 weeks but I do enjoy the extra calories in my diet. Best wishes and keep the faith.
