  1. Yes on the headaches. You have stopped many ingridients quickly and your body is trying to change. I drank lots of Water (SIP water) and used SF popsicles when I needed. I usually stick my Protein shakes in the freezer for 45 minutes to get it like a smoothie. Its like eating ice cream. Best wishes and keep the faith. Band day will be around the corner and your new journey will officially begin.
  2. As a "boost" to get back on track my doctor said it was okay for a day or two, but to try and eat properly is the best way for the band to work effectively.
  3. I always have emergency water with a meal. But I try and chose my food carefully so I follow the doctors rules as much as possible. But as stated already, ice chips will work better than gulping down water.
  4. Good luck to the two of you. Prayers and a safe journey for the band. Keep the Faith!
  5. You're doing a great job on your weight. Keep up the good work.
  6. Best wishes and good luck with surgery. The pain meds will take care of any discomfort. Follow doctors post surgery advice and take pain meds as directed. Have a heating pad ready to help alleviate any gas. I was banded on Aug 6 and had a relatively easy post surgery. I drove my car the next day and 2 days after surgery I attended a weight reduction meeting at my nearby hospital. SIP plenty of Water. Keep the faith
  7. A doctor should be able to put in the Fluid and take out all the fluid. Heres some info. http://arturorodriguezmd.com/lapband-leaks/comment-page-1
  8. Welcome to this great forum. I banded on Aug 6 and its the best thing I ever did. Great health will be in your future and good eating habits. Follow the rules on wise choices of food intake. The band is only a "tool". Your brain has to make the wise choice or it will not work. The band won't fail you, WE fail ourselves. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.
  9. Very good weight loss. Congratulations
  10. Lots of wealth and knowledge here on this forum. You can do your own research on the internet on to what kind of surgery should you have, before seeing your doctor. The doctor will recommend "what" surgery with you. It is a very good idea to do some research on your own. Ask your friends on what tey have done and why. Best wishes
  11. WE don't have all the answers for ALL questions. Sometimes it's common sense and other times, you must see your doctor. But we do have lots of people here who have been in similar situations as you and they our giving their story on what worked for them. We can all take their advice or not, some works and some not. Sometimes, advice given can help us not run or call our doctor all the time. I use this forum and enjoy all the hard work people have given me in what worked for them. Best wishes
  12. As stated, the band is a tool. You have to still do all the hard work. The band helps you feel full longer, so hopfully you don't overeat. You can still put all the wrong foods in your mouth and defeat the band. It's all up to You, in making the wise choices in the foods that go into the band. Unfortunately, most diets are a big Yo-Yo, up n down on weight loss. I love my band since Aug 6 and it's helped me feel full and stay full longer so I don't feel like eating again for a long while. It works if you use it wisely. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.
  13. Protein shakes and broths, right after surgery for 10 days.
  14. Congratulations. Walk helps alleviate the gas and SIP plenty of water.
  15. Welcome and please enjoy this great forum. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.
  16. I just ordered from Walmart, an air stationary bike to supplement my treadmill.
  17. I'm at 1200 calories a day, so for a treat I do eat some lowfat refreid beans, probably close to 1/3 cup. MMMM taste good. I do this once a week.
  18. See your doctor and please discuss this with him/her.
  19. When you public post on this forum, there are lots of people who are concerned and will give you back inputs to your post, whether it's right for you or not. You are the one who decides this! It's their opinion. Best wishes and Keep the Faith.
  20. You haven't seen how big my stomach is!
  21. Congratulations on your weight loss and Best wishes on your next surgery.
  22. I walked and walked the night I got home to pass the gas. Use a heating pad for any pain. SIP your Water. I didn't need Gas-X. Best wishes
  23. I had my first fill recently as well and I didn't notice a difference. Second fill is scheduled for Oct 30.
  24. Drink lots of Water but SIP it. SF popsicles the next day. Walk lots for the gas and a heating pad on back for the gas as well. Congratulations and Best Wishes
