Hello. Newbie From Houston

Hi all. I'm scheduled for the lap band at the end if the month. I'm very excited but the pre-op diet is killing me and these headaches are unbearable! Is this normal?

I am also scheduled for surgery at the end of this month. I started my liquid diet today. Yuck. I woke up with a headache but it has not gone away all day. I took some tylenol but that hasn't helped. I'm sure it will go away. I bought this high protein mix to drink and it is horrible! I am suppose to have 4 a day and I have trouble choking one down.

Good luck. Hopefully an experienced bandster will give us suggestions about the headaches.

I added some V8 infusion peach mango juice to my protien shake! That helped a lot!! :)

I was banded in may and I remember the headaches they lasted about 3 or 4 days but eventually they went away!! Good luck!!

I started adding fat-free, sugar-free pudding to my shakes and they taste much better.

It's the caffeine and sugar withdrawals. Sorry, you will feel that for about 3 or 4 days. It does get better though. Just try to get plenty of water in. I found that the more elaborate you made the process of making your protein shakes the better.. Add some fruit, put it in a fancy glass.. Heck, put a dang umbrella in it!!! Your on your way to better things!!! CELEBRATE!

Yes on the headaches. You have stopped many ingridients quickly and your body is trying to change. I drank lots of Water (SIP water) and used SF popsicles when I needed. I usually stick my Protein shakes in the freezer for 45 minutes to get it like a smoothie. Its like eating ice cream.

Best wishes and keep the faith. Band day will be around the corner and your new journey will officially begin.

I start my shakes on Friday and I getting scared im waiting for my insurance to approve me so I can get band on 11/2
