  1. First fill is no biggie. I had one on Sept 18 and I didn't feel anything. I drank some water in front of the doctor and then he let me go. I did on my own(no doctors orders) eat liquids for 2 days after fill. My second fill is scheduled Oct 30.
  2. Sounds like the discomfort when you lay down is coming from the port area. Mine bothered me the first week or soon then eventually disappeared(band day was Aug 6). Lots of healing going on your body. I used my cellphone camera and shot my redness in one of my incisions and sent it to the doctors office. My doctors office is 1 hour away. He said it was normal and all I had was the glue and no stitches. Best wishes on your recovery.
  3. I drive about 50 miles(one way) to my doctor for my fills in Santa Barbara. I'm only 55 minutes(Lompoc)from SLO and I agree the central coast weather is beautiful. Best wishes
  4. a thin slice to honor your birthday with nonfat milk or decaf coffee. Happy Birthday!!
  5. I did Costco premier protein shakes, SF popsicles and SF jello, vitamins, water, short walks for 17 days. You can do this. It's for you and good health. Best wishes on your journey.

  7. Congratulations! Now on to talking walks to get any gas out of you. Sip lots of Water, take your pain meds and you will be recovering nicely. Best wishes
  8. As soon as possible, pain or not, start walking around the room or in the hallway. This helps alleviate any gas out of you. I also had a hernia repaired as a in-n-out patient, I walked all night within my home and did take my pain medicines for the 2 days or so. Sip plenty of Water even if oyu feel bloated or full. Best wishes on your band, On the road to recovery each step you take for better health and quality of life.
  9. I went big time money and oredered from Bariatric Choice off internet and all the flavors sucked and tasted terrible. Went to my doctor and asked if I could take the following and he said absolutely. Walmart sells One a Day Vitacraves (gummies) and Vitafusion Calcium. I'm not telling you to take one or two each time because that information will come from your doctor or dietitian. Some will have to take additional vitamins/minerals/iron supplements. costco also sells One a Day Vitcraves (big discount and twice the size than Walmart) Good luck
  10. Best wishes and remember after the band, SIP the water.
  11. Ouch, to having no band insurance coverage.
  12. 3 small incisions(no scars) and a bigger incision inside the bellybuton(incision can't be seen) to install the port. I haven't had any problems with the band so far since Aug 6, band day. Youtube has some great videos on the lapband if you choose to look or hear others who have had a band put in place. If I lay down on the bed I can feel my port but its not seen. As you lose weight around the port area, you will be able to feel it. My band I will keep forever. It's helped me feel fuller faster and longer so far and I've only had 1 fill of 1.5cc put in. My surgeon did prefil 1.5cc in the band during surgery. My Allergan band size is 14cc with a omniforn design. Google it if you need any other information. Best thing I've ever did!
  13. I also was a big coffee drinker, mostly at work. Since, I've dropped off our work coffee fund and make a decaf coffee or tea drink in the morning.
  14. Stay on course, you're doing what you're suppose too be doing, healing only. If the weight comes off, so be it. During this stage lots here in the forum that lost weight and others do not or very little. The healing process is different for most of us. I guess people think that if you drinl mostly liquids the weight should come off easily, but your body has stomach trauma and gas was inserted into stomach. Be patient during this stage, it took a long time to get heavy, please don't rush the weight loss, it's not a contest you're in. Quality of life and good health is what you're after. Best wishes
  15. Have they checked for band slippage?
  16. Congratulations and Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
  17. I have an Allergan 14c with omniform (latest Allergan band) with 1.5 prefill.
