  1. Wolfgirl made the statement to remember " my world doesn't revolve around food anymore". Preop, I didn't make a move without thinking what/when/where I was going to eat. Those days are over, hopefully forever! I went to dinner with a gf, ordered fish, ate my small portion and enjoyed our conversation like a normal person! Lol
  2. I have no trouble drinking anything, it's the eating that fills me up. 7 weeks today
  3. I to had a incision infection, I was self pay in mx. I emailed my dr a picture and he told me to go to my pcp. I did so the next day. I was still on the antibiotic given to me at discharge but my pcp put me on bactrim ( yuck). It got better but it is way behind the others in healing. Also, I gave had stitches pop out twice since surgery and that's what is keeping it aggravated. Go get it checked out, better safe than sorry.
  4. You can change your calories on the iPhone app by going to more, then edit profile and scroll down.
  5. I had trapped gas pain in my left shoulder for 3 days postop and then it went away. Very painful.
  6. I took chewable gasx and used them! Extra panties, due to liquid in liquid out at one point I had all my panties and my gown hanging to dry in the bathroom! Lol don't take vitamins you don't need them the first week.
  7. Hang in there it's easier than you think! What company did you book with?
  8. I am unsure about these sensations. It feels like trapped air but I feel it in my throat, like I am full up to my throat. This happens every time I eat solid food, if its 1 egg or 1/4 cp tuna. I was wondering if I was excess stomach acid. I do not have heartburn and I take Prilosec daily
  9. I think of cheating in the traditional since, foods that are bad mostly sweets for me. I had a real sugar addition before and I do not even want to TRY sweets now for fear it will start again!
  10. I live in fort smith, 5 weeks postop down 23 pounds total. Sleeved in Mexico by dr Garcia.
  11. I am 5 weeks postop and followed my postop plan closely. I am now starting to try new foods but most every time I eat I have uncomfortable feelings in my stomach. I have not thrown up, I eat slow, chew and chew and can only eat between 1/4 and 1/2 cup of solid food at a time. I drink one protein drink a day and get between 60-70 grams of protein a day and about 700 calories a day. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about the upset feelings?
  12. Everyone is different I know but I never took a pain pill after I left the hospital on day 2 postop.
  13. I had my sleeve surgery in TJ by dr Garcia 8/31. If you have any questions that weren't answered here, message me.
  14. I follow my Dr guidelines because I want to change my bad habits and it was to give myself the very best chance at a successful journey. Sure I got tired of full liquids, but as I started progressing between stages I appreciated the guidelines even more. At 5 weeks I have a hard time getting 1/2 cup of solids in and I wouldn't eve want to try beef!! I tried ground turkey and couldn't do it. Everyone is different for sure but following "Drs order" is always a safe bet.
  15. Same here, but mine were already sagging so I am prepared to have them replaced later if needed. I am down 23 pounds and they look better, I don't know what they will look like at goal (65 pounds) but I think they are to big anyway.
  16. I don't know how you guys ate solid food so early! I am 4 weeks postop and it hurts to eat ground turkey. Plus, I'm the kind of person that buys a bag of chocolate to have one piece a day and end up eating the whole bag. Once I break the "rules" I have a real hard time getting back on track (speaking preop here). With that being said, I eased into soft food while on the blended diet, adding things slowly. I still have not tried real chicken or anything "bad". I think it's best for me to take it slow. To each his own .
  17. Astephenson, I talked with Kat before my surgery with Dr Garcia. She has some serious infection and felt she had it before she was discharged from the hospital. She mentioned it and then called after she was at the hotel and never received any response. She had to get medical assistance after she got home. Mainly she was disappointed with the lack of care she received. I also developed an infection in one of my incisions but it was mild. I emailed a picture to Dr Garcia and he emailed right back and told me to follow up with my local Dr., which I did. I had to change my antibiotic and it cleared up, I has a stitch pop out and that was what was keeping the incision irritated. My sleeve buddy also w/Garcia felt bad 3 weeks postop emailed Dr Garcia and he had his assistance call her. So we did not experience any lack of service, we both had great experiences. Everyone is different and experience things differently.
  18. I used A Lighter Me an Dr Garcia, both were fantastic. The people at A Ltr Me took very good care of me. It was easy to schedule and I paid $4700. I'm 4 weeks postop, down 21 pounds since start of preop diet, feeling great. Trying to increase my calories, if you can imagine!
  19. If you didn't see me on the other thread I'm kallison1. Open diary and I post daily.
  20. I love mfp! I use it daily AND my diary is open!!!! I wish more ppl would open theirs so I could get ideas. I also put my vitamins on my diary so I can see my total nutrition for the day. Feedback and comments about my diary are welcome kallison1 add me please
  21. There are two separate stories here about leaks. The first was with dr almanza in mx. The second was with dr nain in VA.
  22. I had the sleeve surgery and I had a drain. My surgery was in Mexico and I was in the hospital 2 days (normal there ) they removed the drain before I left the hospital.
  23. I was sleeved 8/31 by dr Garcia in TJ using A lighter Me and had a wonderful experience. Dr Garcia and his staff were friendly and compassionate. The hospital was nice and clean. The onsite coordinator eduardo and the driver abraham could not have been more accommodating. The hotel Marriott was very nice. I traveled alone and felt at ease the whole time. I met some women at the hotel before surgery the next day and met more at the hospital. It was a wonderful experience.
  24. I used a lighter me and dr Garcia, I paid $4700 an had a fantastic experience. The driver was awesome and I was visited in the hospital and in the hotel. My sleeve buddy who was with ready 4 a change, needed some tampons and my driver went to get them for her. I am sure both companies are good and either one you choose will be fine. I can fully vouch for a lighter me, no problems at all and beyond excellent service! Plus dr Garcia and his entire staff are wonderful and the hospital is very nice as well. Not one issue!
