  1. Don’t let those bigoted fools bring you down. WLS is a TOOL that helps YOU gain control of your life, your weight and the way you live. It’s not a "fix" for a obese, fat person. Again, it’s a tool. You are working on changing you. The key word there is WORKING. Watching what and how you eat, exercising and doing the things you used to enjoy. You should pat yourself on your back. You are doing a great job, have a great attitude about this. Don’t let some jealous women drag you down. She is just upset that someone is getting attention she must think she deserves. I hate people like that. Instead of being happy and talking positive they have to be so damn negative. Karma is a mother…that’s all I have to say. Karma is a nasty mofo… Jus sayin..
  2. All I can say is... Way to Go!! Glad to see someone else can approach the topic of sex and not freak out or be embarassed about the subject.
  3. I love the GNC Wheybolic 60, it disentergrates into the soy milk and is awesome!
  4. If you are in need of some recipes or just helpful information regarding what you should and should not eat, I got this from my NUT/Dr. http://www.ochsner.org/content/misc_files/BARIATRICNUTRITIONBIBLE-2012.pdf
  5. Dont forget to take some Biotin if you can, it will help with hair loss
  6. Super glue!!! Or.. dermabond what ever they call it. Worked great for me!
  7. I stopped with chantix, and never picked it back up again. No judging here, but quiting would be really beneficial
  8. I have a daily issued of eating enough. I eat during the day usually one sugar free pudding, 3 protein shakes, maybe a piece of cheese. Thats really it, I have a hard time making myself eat, but I am making sure I take my vitamins.
  9. My cousin had it, and she takes Ducolax, like 10 or 15 because she got tired of talking to the wall at the doctors. She isint puking thank god, she isint doing half bad.... now. About a year after surgery she had her gullbladder out, and that eased a lot of her discomfort. That might be something to check into....
  10. I take the Solotron vitamin from GNC, It’s a multivitamin, along with calcium citrate chewable. I also take some extra biotin, along with a sublingual b-12. Per my NUT. No bend over wanna puke or anything. They taste ok, could be worse, but not vomit worthy.
  11. I know a few people who have had the RNY, and they have nothing but problems. Vitamin absorption issues, becoming anemic, dumping syndrome, can’t keep anything down, always constipated. I was scared to death of the RNY. I was so thankful to hear about the sleeve. Best thing I ever did.
  12. I've had the same problem. I choose not to let her drag me down to her level. Since then I've become more open about it. I did this for me, not for them. So let them talk. You are beautiful. Show them that talking crap behind your back only means that you mean so much to them you are always on their mind. Pure jealousy... chin up. Dont sweat them small crap.
  13. Hi! Im in Metairie and was reading along. I hope everything is working out for ya'll. I went to Ochsner in Metairie for mine, it was awesome. We have a support group at Ochsner, but I was hoping for something outside of the medical office . Would any of you be interesting in meeting up a couple times a month or something along those lines?
  14. I know you posted this a while back... but im interested (waving hand). Any groups or anything local? Oh and Hi!

  16. I had surgery on a wednesday, and was back the following wednesday. I have a sit down job, and as long as you dont over do it, and lift anything over I think it was 7 pounds, You will do fine
  17. Okay I have had all my blood work done, and the doctor said that my protein levels are great as well as my vitamin levels. I get enough protien everyday, but I am still loosing hair. I mean I can make a wig with whats falling out. Any suggestions?
  18. Im not on any blood thinners. Just my regular vitamins. I just wondered if it was me... or what? Cause If I tap the doorframe with my arm I will have a knot and a large bruise. I moved this weekend and am now covered with them. I swear I've had two people ask me if I needed to speak with a police officer. I guess they think I am being beaten at home...lol
  19. Has anyone noticed a penchant for bruising easily after surgery? I have bruises down my arms and legs... any suggestions?
  20. I take Solotron from the GNC its a multi vitamin, and I take Calcium citrate chewable that I got online, its a nice citrus flavor, a sublingual b-12 (disolves under the tounge) and Previcid (meltaway). Dr told me that I would be on Previcid for the next year, to keep from developing ulcers.
  21. Follow what the doctor says, just take one at a time, and chew, chew, chew. It might feel a little weird when it hits your stomach, but you will get through it.
  22. My doctor told me to give it two to three days and see how they sit. Day four was better then day three.
  23. I started right off using the Wheybolic 60 from GNC, I used it with light vanilla Soy milk, which my Nutritionist advised was great! I never had any problems, it was easily digested and no heartburn and ...it tasted great. I use the vanilla with a drop of two of coconut extract and its fabulous. annnnnd to date I've lost about 60 or so pounds, sooo something mustbe working
  24. I was just wondering if anyone had soreness in their legs, it almost feels like my skin hurts. Not from walking/working out. Just feels kind of weird. I had my surgery May 10, and I'm just concerned. Any suggestions? Thanks
