I Dont Get It!!?? Help!
Are you eating enough? That could also be a problem. Congrats on your NSVs!

Calorie Counter
Yes! I love both of these features. It is sometimes a PITA to input recipes and then measuring them out into servings, but it is so worth it. I found that eyeballing a portion of Protein was not one of my strong suits and that I wasn't getting enough.

Any Bandsters With Hypothyroid Condition>?
I do. I actually spoke with my doctor about this today and she said we will just monitor every 6 weeks or so (more if I am feeling bad) to make sure my levels are ok due to absorption and weight loss.

Officially Banded!
Thanks, everyone. I over did it yesterday and work up around 2:30 this morning in some pain. A quick dose of meds and a move to couch has helped. And for the record - I am not a fan of broth. Good thing I wasn't hungry yesterday. Also odd, I love me some sugar free tropical Popsicles. I couldn't even eat half of one yesterday bc they were suddenly too sweet. Bizarre.

Officially Banded!
I got banded this morning and have been to the grocery store/pharmacy (meds and walking some gas out). I am home resting and watching food Network (my fave post surgery past time). And for the icing on the cake - fellow bandaged Radarluv and I got to meet in post-op/recovery. Apparently there was some conversation pre-op, but I was already dosed on the good stuff and remember none of it! I have neve enjoyed burping as much as I am now - ready to get this gas out. I hope all of our recent bandsters are having a great recovery'

Anyone Getting Banded In July?
SF = sugar free. My doc's dietician suggested it, so I know it is ok for me, but every doctor seems to have a different opinion on pre-op.

Anyone Getting Banded In July?
I am on 2 weeks of 2 protein shakes + one meal of lean protein/green veggies. I can also have a cup of fruit. For whoever was asking about making the shakes better: Vanilla protein a few chunks of pineapple (I buy fresh and freeze) a few pitted cherries (I buy fresh and freeze) SF vanilla pudding (dietician suggested it) Water Ice A teeny sprinkle of coconut And you have yourself a virgin pina colada. It is really tasty. I do something similar but with chocolate powder and pudding, blueberries and cherries. I will be able to get more creative once I am on liquids post surgery. I love adding a little peanut butter, bananas and cocoa powder. I also add a few handfuls of spinach. It blends in and you can't taste it. You just have do get past the hideous color it turns with the chocolate.

Did Anyone Gain Weight Postop
It is crazy the effect surgeries have on our bodies. Sounds like fluid and gas. Keep calm and carry on - you've got this!!

Pre Op Milk And Yoghurt Diet
Every doctor seems to have a different protocol. Mine calls for NO milk products for the two weeks leading up to it. Crazy how they are all different. Good luck with your journey!

Annoyed !
The word about mine is slowly getting out. I have several friends who know, but I don't tell them outright. They have asked what is going on and I direct them to my blog where I wrote about my debate on telling friends or not and that I didn't want to have to throat punch anyone who was negative. So...they can see what I am doing, think their own thoughts and make an educated decision on whether to tell me if they think it is a bad idea. Lucky for them, they've all been supportive.

When Was Your Last Pre-Op Visit Before The Actual Surgery?
I am going through True Results in Houston as well. Different surgeon though. My surgery is this Thursday (eeeeep!!!). I met with the doctor last week and have my pre-op at the hospital on Wednesday. What part of town are you in? I am in the energy corridor/west Houston.

Mixing It Up With The Protein Shakes - Come Share!
My doc will let me do about half a cup of fruit a day on pre-op. I am choosing to add it to my shakes. I have had 2 different ones today and they are so tasty. I usually put milk and yogurt in, but my doc doesn't approve dairy on pre-op. I was really, really leery of using Water, but it turned out fine. Pineapple-Cherry-vanilla 12ish oz water 1.5 scoops of vanilla Protein powder 1/4 cup pineapples 2-3 cherries I put a bunch of pre-measured fresh fruit in the freezer last night and use that in place of ice. I blended it up and it was mighty tasty this morning. chocolate Cherry berry 12ish oz water Ice 1.5 scoops of chocolate Protein Powder 2-3 cherries 1/4 cup blueberries Blend it up. Was very good.
