  1. I like creamy ones like chocolate and vanilla and stuff with low fat milk, but the "juice" like ones, like lemonade, and the fruit ones like fuzzy navel with water.
  2. I got one just like that at wal mart for like 2 bucks. I got one for my sis in law, for her newborn and was like HEEEEYYYY that would work so well!
  3. Be able to not loose my breath from just bending over and picking up clothes Be able to not worry when going to amusement parks Keep up with my 3 yr old neice Be able to bike ride and enjoy it Be off my pre diabetes and HBP meds And to me, on a larger scale: Be able to start a family (can't with PCOS) and have my fiance be able to lift me.
  4. Oh man, I can not wait! I have no idea what skinny sex will even be like since i've always been overweight. Gonna have to break out the kama sutra!
  5. I have high blood pressure and the type of pill i take (a "water pill"), I can't remember the name, but i had to come back a week after taking it and it was already low. I too have seen the effect of being overweight after years of it seeming not to affect me.
  6. It is the same time every week on the same day. I had Fridays at 11am but they do have them throughout the week at different times, I think even some night ones. I just got cleared through the Psych eval, so now its just a waiting game for the pre-op appointment for the surgeon! So excited. I started the classes the beginning of June with th orientation. You can miss a max of two classes, but if you miss a third they drop you and you have to start over, also they require you to make up any missed classes before you can get your secondary baratric appointment or psych. The classes themselves are an hour and half long. My class time was 9:30 to 11:00 am. If you have any questions you can def. message me
  7. I got my Nectar sample pack at www.bjsbariatrics.com I liked it because I got to pick which ones I wanted since I don't like some flavors. I have tried only the roadside lemonade so far (GROSS) and chocolate truffle, which is sooooo good! I like the brands from walmart except the chocolate peanut butter cup. I have a tub of Nectar Fuzzy Navel but im kinda iffy on it. If you buy mix from vitamin shoppe and get home and you cant stand it or dont like it, they let you return it towards something else, as long as you keep the receipt and you don't do it every time. Its handy to know though, cus I bought a brand i never heard of and hated it, and returned it to get the fuzzy navel.
  8. First, congrats on your fantastic life change! I can't wait to be able to tell people those kinds of stories. A year from now I want to be down at lease 100 lbs, and skydive. Also I want to zipline at some point in time and run (or jog) a 5k, like the Color Run. I want to look smoking hot on my wedding day ( I have been engaged to an awesome man for almost 4 years now). I also want to start a family two to three year from now, after finishing school and starting my career. So much I want to do, its so exciting!!
  9. I just finished the classes Sept. 14th at Fontana. Just had my 2nd Bari appointment and my Psych is Nov. 7th. I heard after that it goes fast, so i have hoping for sooner than later! Its kinda agrivating that they want you to be so strict about the classes then they take 2 months to get you a Psych appointment. But oh well, gives me time to prepare.
  10. Congrats!!! I can't wait to finally have my surgery, I don't even remember ever being in the 200s since like... middle school. My head will prolly explode!
  11. I love the pink and green powerade zero (actually I like all of them exept the red). Arizona makes a Arnold Palmer Zero, but I am not sure if that has caffine. I got Ocean Spray White Cran-Peach packets that are so delicious! I have the "Crush" packets too, but I really only like the Strawberry one, but I make it lighter than the whole packet because it is super strong. I have seen Squirt packets at Food 4 Less (Kroger), and my fiance says its just like flat Squirt. I love the mio and walmart verisons of mio, especially the sweet tea and blue raspberry ones. I have a ton of the crystal light packets, and my fiance is diabetic so we have tried tons of sugar free drinks. Sometimes the brand makes a huge difference too, like the Wyler's brand I personally think is disgusting.
  12. The classes that I have to take for Kaiser, we had the same question with the Why is it still in there? And they said its because they stomach is still functioning, and releases the 'juices' (all that stuff your stomach makes) into your intestines still, that help with digestion within the intestine. With the sleeve you still have enough of your stomach that it doesn't create a problem like the cup in RNY.
  13. I have had negative feedback from only one person (and I have told EVERYONE about it), and that was one co worker he told me "you don't need it you just need to eat right" which is true, but he looks down on my for getting it. Excuse me, you do not know my background and everything. We were discussing in my surgery classes about how people say its the "easy way out". HELL NO it isn't the easy way out! For me easy would be just keep doing what I have been doing and not caring about my health. This is a HUGE change! Everything in your life has to change, and that can be scary, and it sure won't be EASY!
  14. I am having class 9 this friday, graduating Sept 14th. Our class brought up the 10% weight loss because it was acted by the instructors that it was "mandatory" and the lady we had that week ( I think it was a dietitian or psych) told us its PREFERRED. It makes surgery easier and shows your commitment, but they can't FORCE you to loose weight. They said that it makes you more likely for the surgeon to say go ahead with the surgery faster. I have a co worker who did options, then has his surgery this past Feb, he GAINED weight through the program, he did the "eat everything before I can't eat it anymore". His surgeon actually told him, you know what, I can not supposed to do it, but I will anyways. Def. not saying to go his way cus who knows. But our class was freaking out over the "required" 10% weight loss. By that I am supposed to loose 31 lbs, I have changed habits of eating and what not, and have lost 15, so its still going to show them the commitment.
  15. I don't know if there is a supplement. Doctors just say to make sure you are getting 75-100 grams of protein a day after surgery, which you can do by sipping on protein shakes all day.
  16. I personally like the kind you can find at wal mart, esp since I can't spend a lot of money on it. I am hoping I like them after surgery too!
  17. There is a fantastic thread about protein shakes under the nutrition portion, also I have heard that what you like now might change after surgery. But congrats on getting a date!!
  18. My fiance's family doesn't even believe that I weight over 300lbs, but I am tall, so my weight doesn't look that high. I think its sweet that they don't think I need it, but they are supportive none the less. They know I am having trouble having a baby, and they want the best for me and my fiance. I was always teased as the "fat one" and always felt out of place next to my skinny best friends. My main reason though, that I make sure to tell everyone is that I am doing it for my health, at 22 I already have high blood pressure that I take meds for, and I just got perscribed metformin for insulin resistance. If I know its an issue now, why wait for later, when it will only get worse!
  19. I use the wishbone spray dressing in the ranch. Ranch is always my go to, and this tastes great but has 15 cal per 10 sprays, with less than 1 gram of sugar.
  20. I got really depressed about it in the beginning because as a woman its like "If i can't do the one thing I was made to do, what kind of woman am I?" But I focused the thoughts towards solutions instead. I have to say though I am trying so hard to watch what I eat and loose weight like the classes recommend, but it is insanely hard!
  21. I want to be more active and do more activities, like camping, hiking, biking. I want to like clothes shopping, and not getting all frustrated and sweaty just trying pair of pants after pair that don't fit. I want to be able to go to any store I want and get clothes that I know will fit. I want to be able to go to amusement parks with my fiance and not a.) worry about not getting the bar to go down and click and b.) be able to share a ride with my fiance and not worry he will fall out since it takes him 5 clicks to make his tight and 1 for me. I want to skydive, and do adventurous things. The main thing is I want to loose weight so that I can join the Air Force, and the biggest most important thing I want to gain from this is: Being able to have a child. We have been trying for 2 1/2 years and found out i have PCOS, so I am going to infertility alongside the surgery classes. The greatest achievement would be to have children and raise them in a healthy, active environment.
  22. In the mandatory class for the surgery, the instructor was saying that they do not recommend the lap bad for people. Also he said they have more people coming in to take it off then they have putting them on. In addition he also said that they only last about 10 years, as it can break.
