Found out at Pre-op appointment I have crazy high blood pressure. Pcp thinks he can get it down in time for Dec. 14th surgery. That just added one more reason to the list of many why this is a good choice to me. I've always been a healthy fat person (or so my blood test and pressure would show) Proof even if you can run and try hard our bodies are not meant to take that kind of weight abuse. I am so ready to be freed from the weight!!!!

I have high blood pressure and the type of pill i take (a "water pill"), I can't remember the name, but i had to come back a week after taking it and it was already low. I too have seen the effect of being overweight after years of it seeming not to affect me.

I too had high blood pressure for years and was on the highest dose of pressure medication when I had the surgery. about two months after surgery I kept getting really light headed so my PMD said with my weightloss my bp had dropped back to normal range and by still taking the medications i was making it drop to low. they took me off of meds completly just continued to watch my bp and my bp has been fine every since.

That is so exciting. I'm scheduled for January 16, 2013 for my surgery and have tons of BP meds. I hope to say farewell to them as well. Thanks for the post!!

Thanks....I am excited at least when I heard there was a problem I already had a plan in place. I'm 33 and the reason I decided on the sleeve was because I wanted to fix the problems before they started.
