Hi all: Had my sleeve surgery on July 2, 2012. Start weight 258, now (July 30) 230. Yeah me...am loosing about a pound every two days...feel amazing. Would like to get under 200 by the Labour Day weekend, but if I don't I won't cry,,,,I'm enjoying the journey. Going to start at the gym soon, doing walking right now....Had my surgery in Mexico by Dr. Ortiz...treated like a Princess, and they told me the truth,,..NO PAIN!!! Cher :wub:

Hi Sleeve Guru: I hear you about waiting for insurance to approve your surgery. Although I don't need insurance approval in Canada, our Medical Services Plan has cut our Bariatric Surgeons down to 2 surgeries a month, so I have been waiting for 2 years, however, they are just now doing the people who have been waiting since 2006...unbelievable! Well, I am the original squeeky wheel, so here goes. I will make sure that I get this surgery even if I have to go the Mexico to get it, I am 60 years old and am unable to do any of the activities I enjoy because of my weight, and I don't intend to let the weight end my life as I know it. So one way or the other, I will have this surgery before the summer of 2012. Wish me luck guys, and keep the faith.
