Exhausted, sick frequently and scared, help!

Try really really hard to drink your water. My father recently experienced itchiness, dizziness (He fell at a restaraunt even), confusion and fatigue. After NUMEROUS tests on his heart, brain, etc. and bloodwork they discovered he was chronically dehydrated. A few IV bags of fluids over a weeking and 64 oz of water a day and he's back to normal. This was all discovered 3 weeks ago and he even played golf today. See if your doctor will order and IV fluid boost to get you started. My dad felt better immediately after 2 bags of fluids. Good luck and keep us posted.

16 dayssssss! Be my friend! :)

Good luck girlfriend! You have a positive attitude which is half the battle!! I was sleeved on July 2nd and have lost 129 lbs to date. I told EVERYBODY and I'm proud of it. There is one person in my family who didn't support my choice, but that's her problem. My friends have been super supportive. Just remember...it's not an easy fix, you still have to work at it. Now that I'm almost 6 months out, there are a lot more foods that I can eat that I couldn't at first, it's come to the point where I have to make the right choices. My biggest advice to you after the surgery is GET YOUR PROTEIN. I can't stress that enough. Protein, protein, protein. I still have a Carnation milk chocolate no sugar added protein shake with 1% milk every morning. Oh yah, take lots of before and after pictures too!
  3. I'm pretty sure guzzling is never going to happen again. I was sleeved July 2nd and can now just take a good drink. I have a dry mouth most of the time so getting 64 oz water a day is not a problem, just one drink at a time, not gulp.

    What to eat

Hi there, I had surgery 7-2-12, so pretty close to yours. I drink a Carnations No Sugar Added Milk Chocolate protein shake every morning (15g), then throughout the day I snack on one Adkins Advantage bar (1g sugar & 16g - 19g, depending on the bar). Right there is over 30 g of protein before food, I stil have a VERY limited number of foods that don't make me sick, so I'm planning on protein suppelments for a long time. I don't have any good ideas on what to eat, but hopefully this can help your protein intake.

My First Update, 5 Months Out.

So, this is my first blog ever! I've been a member of this site since for several months and as of today I am 5 months post-op with a total weight loss of 112.6 lbs. I'm super excited about the results, and wonder if I'm average, behind or ahead in my weight loss. I know it's not good to compare with others, because we're all different, but I still wonder. I am sloooooooowly incorporating new foods into my diet and I still get an upset stomach most of the time when I do. Honestly, I stick with soup, oatmeal, fresh veggies, protein bars and protein shakes. Beef is a definite no-no, turkey and chicken are okay in super small survings and I haven't attempted pork. I miss my diet coke terribly, but Crystal Light is my new best friend. I love it that my patient's notice the difference (I work in out-patient radiology) and I have the absolute best support system in my co-workers. My family is pretty supportive, but there are always issues with family... I love feeling better in general, not getting winded walking up a flight of stairs, wearing my car seatbelt without choking, fitting in a restaurant booth comfortably and seeing my waist and collarbones again. I was always overweight, but I actually weigh less now than I did when I graduated high school 21 years ago! I just wanted to drop a little note tonight to my fellow sleevers. We're all in this together and, from what I read, most of us are overjoyed with our surgical decisions. Keep up the good work everyone!

    Pre-Surgery

I was sleeved on July 2nd and returned to work on July 13th, but I have an office/desk job. I had to do 2 weeks pre-op liquid diet which consisted of low sugar protein shakes, clear broth and sugar free jello. For the shakes (and I've tried many) my favorite is Adkins Advantage Vanilla, Carnation sugar free milk chocolate, and I got from the Supplement SuperStore Level 1 powder in Ice Cream Sandwich and Chocolate Chip Cookie dough. There are a lot of supplements to take forever...B-12, Calcium, Vitamin D, Prilosec, and a Bariatric multivitamin. Plus B-1 fo the first 90 days after surgery. Your surgeon's plan may differ, though. The pain was minimal, I had 4 little portal incisions that were glued, so no stitches, and a pain pump that I removed by myself at home 4 days after surgery. I went home from the hospital about 36 hours after surgery. So far I've lost 101 lbs. I have no regrets!!! Please feel free to ask me if you have any more questions. Good luck!

Anyone With Nausea And Cold Sweats After Having Food ?

It has happened, plus I started yawning continuously like I couldn't get enough air. I think it was from eating too fast too.
  8. If he says he's happy with you thin, I think he is. I did have this issue too....for about 3 seconds. And I have a very close male friend who tells me every day to stop losing weight because he likes me better big. He said last week that my face looks better when it was fuller. Oh well!!! My face feels better thinner!!! Sounds like you got a great and supportive husband and when the time's right for both of you, go ahead and get that boob job!
  9. Fabulous post! I, too have enjoyed seeing my collarbones, and yes, my butt padding is decreased that I find sitting in some places quite uncomfortable. I'm gonna see the Rockettes this winter and I can wait to sit in the seats without having the armrest leave bruises on my sides!! Keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Update

I had to do 2 weeks pre-op liquid diet which consisted ONLY of protein shakes, clear broth, sugar free jello and sugar free popsicles. It totally sucked at first, but by day 4 I felt pretty good...and I lost 20 lbs. in those 2 weeks. You can do it!
  11. Had my 3 month follow up today (surgery was July 2nd) and all is well. Down a total of 78 lbs (20 preop) so no complaints. Keep up the good work everyone!

    Onq Pain Pump

I was sent home with mine. No problem. I removed it myself 3 days later. Just pulled the tubing out, felt weird, but no pain.

This Sh*t Is Harder Than I Thought It Would Be

You can do it! I had to do an all liquid preop diet for 2 WEEKS! Your surgery is Wednesday, right? Less than 48 hours to go...hang in there.

    Meds

That's right, Tylenol is okay, but we will never be able to have Ibuprofen or Alleve.
  15. That is great! Don't ever stop being YOU!!!
