the same exact thing happened to me. but you have to follow your doctors orders regarding Protein and Fluid. also you must walk as well.
good luck! we have to just keep pushing forward.
my weight never just dropped off. i had to put forward effort just like prior to surgery . i must walk daily and do some activities in order for the weight to come off.
some people dont have to put forth effort but in my case i have to.

I gained almost 10 pounds while I was in the hospital and had to lose that first. It was very frustrating to come out of the hospital weighing more than when I went in! It'll go. Patience grasshoppa...

Yeah when I hit a certain goal...my reward was a Gigi's cupcake...one of my all time favorites. I cut it in half and gave my hubby the other half. I took one bite and it was way too sweet...raked the frosting off and took a bite of the cake...threw it in the garbage can! I just didn't care for it...it wasn't what I expected it to be. I would rather step on the scale and see more lbs gone!

Since when is losing 79 pounds and keeping it off failure?
If you aren't losing at the pace you'd like, but you are active and adhering to a healthy diet, you need to accept that you might just be a slower loser. I thought I'd be down 107 pounds by nine months out...it took me 17 months to hit goal.
If you're not already, you need to track your food. Without changing your current diet, track every single bite you put in your mouth for three days. Then, shave 20% off your calories and return to a healthier balance (I do 40% Protein, 30% carbs and 30% fat) and if you don't lose weight after two weeks of doing that, come back and ask for help again.
Odds are good you've simply fallen into denial or gotten complacent about your diet. It's normal - I think a lot of us that take longer to lose the weight do this at some point. Pick it up and get back to basics. If you've dropped your Protein shake, reconsider. It's a great way to up your protein totals for the day without adding a ton of extra calories. I always aim for 90+ grams a day. And be sure you're drinking Water between meals and not drinking a lot of excess calories (or diet soda, which isn't good for anyone) without realizing it.
Diet alone should help you jump start, but adding in new exercise will certainly help. Consider finding something you can look forward to doing as a daily physical activity. I won't lie, I have trouble with this myself.
There is no reason you can't reach your goal weight in your second year post op. Your sleeve is as big as it's getting. It's the same tool it was a year ago - so if you buckle down and get real with yourself you can reach your goal this year.

Sure no prob guys. Here are some of the books I found with the higher ratings and reviews.
    1) 101 BEST Paleo Diet Foods by Health Research Staff
    2) Everyday Paleo by Sarah Fragoso
    3) Paleo Comfort foods: Homestule cooking for a gluten- free kitchen by Julie & Charles Mayfield
    4) The Power of Paleo! By Mario ans Vienna Zander's
    5) The Paleo diet solution: the modern caveman's cookbook
    6) The Paleo diet cookbook by Loren Cordain, Ph. d.
Now, don't forget this will be a lifestyle change not a temporary fix. Basically your body will be burning fat for energy instead of carbs. This is a very carb restricted diet. You're body will be in ketosis. But many people who assume they just do this for a week or 2 and than go back to a higher carb intake bight find the lbs coming back or weightloss stalling. I think this works for me bc I can live without rice for the rest of my life now.ni made the decision that is rather be healthy and I want to motivate my mom and dad who have a plethora of health issues and only cook very salthy, MSG infested, high fat Filipino food. I want them to live past their parents (bfathers died at 65ish) and have them walk me down the aisle and meet my kids. Besides my house is kind of a slaughter house. Sorry vegetarians:( but we love seafood and meat over here. I think it'd be the perfect diet for me. Also, did you ever think about this?: white rice doesn't taste like anything! Hahahah my nephew told me that the other day saying "Awww mommmm, but whats the point? It doesn't taste like anything!" smart 4th grader.
I just found another good book by Loren Cordain and Friel: the Paleo diet for athletes. The first 20 pages are very good.

You want to hear pathetic? I was cleaning out a few storage areas in my kitchen today and found a box of fancy crackers I was given as a gift but forgot about. I opened the box and smelled the crackers and was so upset I hadn't realized and ate them earlier. I licked the garlic cheesy goodness off of like ten of them while standing at the trash can. Lick, toss, lick, toss, lick, toss. At one point I bit one and spit it out. Yeah, sometimes it's hard.
Oh well, off to puree some refried Beans and put some cheese and sour cream on it. (Which actually is delicious)!
I have had about 3 pity parties (including a supermarket one) but mostly I'm cool and accepting.
    We'll be okay, alright?

I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would do a progress report. I started at 270 lbs. and am now 222! I have lost a total of 48 lbs and could not be happier with my decision to have the sleeve. I am wearing clothes that have been packed away for over 2 years. I feel so much better!! I can get my wedding rings on my finger again!! My best NSV so far was about a week ago. We have a really small bathroom and while I was in Front of the mirror getting ready for work my husband went to squeeze by me to use the bathroom and instead of squeezing through like he use to do he just walked right behind me. He stopped and was like wow!! Thats proof of how much smaller you are!! It really made me feel good!!

I am just thoroughly enjoying my confidence now. I'm enjoying the attention. I'm enjoying the compliments. I'm enjoying the looks while I'm driving from the guys. Today I was told that I had 'dreamy' eyes by a guy. I'm happily married. But this is a nice change to barely even being noticed before. I walk with my head up now instead of looking at the floor. What a difference. Love love love where this is going. 111 lbs down since august 2011. Another 90 to go!

You all have no idea how much better I feel reading these responses and viewing all the various threads on this website. I can't talk w/ my husband about things - he tolerated my band and seems to be in a bit of denial about me having the sleeve. He is supportive only in that he wants me to be happy but I know he is worried about me having yet another surgery.
I am so ready. So very ready. Once the anxiety over waiting for the insurance response ends, the liquid diet will begin...and then *fingers crossed* my surgery date. 11 days after that I will Celebrate my 44th birthday. Can't think of a better gift to myself!!

holy crap i thought i was reading my story! hang in there we can only keep trying and praying right? i too had my band out it wasnt eroded but i had sepsis a few years back and well i guess it hadnt been completely cleared up because when they removed my band it was busted into pieces and covered in pus and my stomach was so overinflated it wasnt funny from an overfill. so here i sit in my depression, eating, ive gotten past the pity party and have been exercising and watching a little more than i was if nothing it will make me feel better. hang in there and please keep me posted i wish you well! i will get the sleeve november/december i hope.

Newbie, your feelings are normal...... I'm sure I'm not over some feelings of feeling left out, it's hard being around a lot of drinkers when I can't but I'm just trying to remain positive and find other things to do.... If your like me and tired of struggling with the food you'll understand why I say its the best thing for me so far. I'm simply amazed that I am not hungry and plotting my next meal all the time :-) I'm still not feeling 100% yet but its getting better every day...

I gained about 60 lbs between when my band was removed and when I got my sleeve (which was about a 7 month wait). That lack of restriction was a bear. Even though the last few years I had my band I only had about 1/4 of a cc, and the last several months I was completely empty, I still had restriction due to my slip. The first time I swallowed something still somewhat unchewed (on accident) and had my oh **** moment, then realized nope, it's perfectly fine now... it was almost surreal.
3.5 months sleeved now and while I don't regret my band, and I lost a ton of weight with it and was grateful for the loss, I'll still say that if I knew then what I know now, and it had been available then, I'd have gone with the sleeve from the start.

If you are throwing up everything you eat, call your nutritionist / surgeon's office. With zero nutrition your body is in starvation mode and will hold onto everything. When exercising, you sometimes need to add calories. Lots of possibilities to consider, which your bariatric center should help with.

I know the feeling of band removal and all the sudden your meals and eating plan are out the window!!! 3 months after having my band removed I got sleeved on June 12 this year, the most amazing thing is I am not hungry, I do not obsess over food like I did the in the past.... So far this is much better than the band to me..... Best of luck in your decision!!
