  1. Good luck and a speedy recovery to you both!
  2. I started this weekend. I am 3 weeks post op. Did a light crunch workout in the pool. I didn't want to over do it. I will probably do that this week and see how I feel at the end of the week.
  3. You say you posted this but can't see it. I found it no problem. You might have to refresh or even close your browser and reopen. Great read! Good lick.
  4. Wow another one!! Congrats and I hope you have a smooth procedure!
  5. Congrats on yours as well! Welcome to the journey!
  6. I'm going to have to give both of these a try! Thanks for sharing.
  7. You will, but it will pass!
  8. Roanoke, TX here. I was banded with plication in June 12, 2012 and down 29 lbs as of today!
  9. You go girl!!! I managed to get in an hour of laps in the pool and my arms are killing me now...lol!

Since they're human I like to think of it as the platypus face!
  11. I'm already your buddy, but I'll reapply anyway..lol!
  12. Welcome, I'm a newbie too. I love the support I get from this place and so much information from some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. Good luck with your journey and look forward to your new you!
  13. Congrats!!! I hope it goes well and I agree..."Banded for Life" is a great motto!
  14. You're welcome and just know that you will get through it. We all will.
  15. I was amazed at how much of an emotional attachment I had to food! It's as if it was my longest living best friend and I would never see him again. No one there to bring me up when down. No one to take away the pain of everyday problems. No one to tell me how things will be alright. No one to party with me on the weekends or to make road trips fun! But that friend while all of those things, was also making me do things that were detrimental to my health and causing me to ignore all the other things in life that matter so much more. Do I miss my friend....yes. However, I will NOT miss the rest of my life.
  16. I hardly ever drink, but I did when I was 2 weeks post-op. I had one glass of Jim Beam on ice. Sipped on it for 2 hours and still got a buzz.
  17. I'm great! I'm always amazed at how little my portion sizes are yet I still feel full. I'm not finding it difficult at all, but my journey has just begun.
  18. So I am about 2 and 1/2 weeks post-op. Wife is 4 weeks post-op. We had sex for the first time yesterday and she was so tight that it was actually uncomfortable. Do you guys think this was due to the surgeries, the month without sex, or a combination of both? I sure hope it gets better because I could not penetrate.
  19. IMO it may not be so much of a compliment than it is someone saying "Hey, I've noticed...good job." I'd appreciate that.
  20. Just had my 2 week post op follow-up. Lost 24 lbs total, but doc said I'll have my first adjustment on July 30th. I have lap with the GP.
  21. Oh no! I had that a couple of times last week. I wound up just dry heaving gas. Called docs office and he said it was normal.
  22. Welcome and congrats! It will get better, as many will tell you it will just take a few days. I started feeling close normal after about 3-4 days.
  23. Same here. Had lap band and had a couple of small hernias repaired at the same time. didn't know until after the fact.
  24. I had a total of 6 days off including the day of the surgery. I was off and had surgery on Tuesday and was back at work the Monday with very little discomfort. I will add though that I have a very high pain tolerance. I never took much of the pain meds after coming home.
  25. I would absolutely die if I could not have watermelon ever again! Sorry to hear about your problems with it. :-(
