  1. I want to be 150. Originally I thought 175 also and i think I do look good at that weight but for my body type I think 150 is the healthy normal bmi for me.
  2. Don't u guys love this thread! I had confessions before but have more 1. I eat a cookie or candy or ice cream if I want- just very small amt 2. I never exercise and I'm 5 wks out- where and how the heck can I get motivated!!! 3. I eat too fast- still but getting better! 4. I'm so glad that surgery is over and I feel over the hump. I didn't feel like myself after surgery and I'm so happy to be without pain, can eat reg food and feel normal again! 5. I ate potato chips the other day- a handful and they tasted so good and went down Really easy chewed well and I'm not even a chip fan- uh oh!!
  3. Hey girl- There's alot of support here. I was sleeved 11/28 and also a nurse. I took 4 wks off. I had a stomach virus right after so it took a wk to recover from that but after another wk I felt good. I went back 12/31. The thing about working is its hard cause in the beginning u are not taking in that much and to expect to work- physical and mental in that state may be hard. Some people have a hard time with long shifts too. But everyone is different. Please don't rush it cause u are putting u First!!! Let me know if u have questions. Good luck !!
  4. Ok got up this morn and I'm down 3 more lbs so that's 40 incl my pre op. I'm so excited to be wearing those old clothes again;)
  5. Get premier brand from Costco. It's the only one I like!!
  6. I totally agree with PDXman. I love my new stomach. I love that I can get full on a little bit of anything. I feel great!!
  7. Sounds great!! I feel very blessed as I had no problems eating post op. now 6 wks out I forget anything happened- until I see that sm portion lol. U are on your way to a new healthy you. Congrats!!
  8. Wow u are amazing!!! Tell me what was your exercise routine like?? I'm so proud of u and I very feel awesome;)
  9. I feel the same as everyone else!! Can't get enough water in. I hardly drank before surgery so it's really hard now. Prob get 32oz a day:( my friends say I'm a camel lol. I eat too fast and pay for that later and the thought of a protein shake - ugh! I guess old habits are hard. The only time I take my time eating is if I'm doing something else - like now. Eating breakfast and on here. I try to get my protein in with food and I think I do a good job. I just looked up the common foods I eat and track it. My fitness pal is good or just writing it down. Good luck everyone
  10. I'm in them too and forget sometimes but I totally agree. My loss is not fast but then again I don't want gallstones so I will keep on trying!
  11. I was sleeved 11/28 down 36 lbs incl pre op diet Loss. I'm eating whatever I want just chew it Alot. I used to start out with 1/2 shake first thing in morn but now I just do eggs and a few hrs later cottage cheese or cheese. I also do protein bars sometimes if im out- keep in purse. I try to meet my protein req but I can eat anything. I stay away from bread rice pasta but eat that too - just a little. Pasta bothers me the most. I get overfull no matter what. And Soda is a big no! I don't like anyhow so that's good. I find I need to eat every 3 hrs or so otherwise I turn mean and irritable.
  12. Don't forget all the fluids they give u in the hospital can make it appear like the pounds are coming off slow. It takes some time for your body to adjust. My doc said sometimes people weigh more right after surgery cause if fluids. U will do great. After a couple wks some weight will come off then u will hit a stall and so on.... I get discouraged too. I'm 5 wks out and only down 20 pre op and 16 from surgery but my clothes are falling off so something is happening!!
  13. Oh no! I'm 6 wks out and didn't lose any so I thought I was out of woods too. Guess I better get that biotin and start taking - looks like month 4 is the one
  14. I did fine- they had a potluck cause of new yrs eve. I ate some here and there but the worst thing is it was soooooo crazy busy. I'm so glad to be home and in my bed. Thanks for asking;)
  15. Thinned cream of wheat was on my full liquid diet and its made up of little particles like grits. Had no problem. In fact it's the thing I ate Every morning!!
  16. I totally know how u feel. I felt awful for a week and every time I looked in the mirror I said- u made a mistake. At 2 wks I felt like a different person. Now at 5 wks I forget I ever had surgery. Believe me it will pass. I had 18 mo wait and 6 mo of classes so I'm as prepared as they come so I think and most will tell u that these feelings r normal. I heard it over and over when I was going thru it but u gotta know things will get better. Happy New Year to the new you!!!
  17. At 1.5 wk post op I started thinned mashed potatoes pudding yogurt. I couldn't stand it. By 3 wks was on reg food chewed Alot. Good luck and keep up the good work
  18. That doesn't sound like too much. It sounds like normal portion. I didn't eat that little before surgery -1 egg for breakfast? But now I do. I eat a scrambled egg w chz or boiled egg for bfast. A little cottage chz a few hrs later. For lunch tuna/ chicken about 1/4 c Mabye a couple crackers and 1/2 cup or less for dinner. My problem is I do not drink enough. I know the weight would come off faster of I drank plus I'm impatient but I'm glad I can eat a somewhat " normal" portion just gotta be patient. Good luck;)
  19. I tried it 2x and it made my stomach HURT!! I dont like soda but I was thirsty and just wanted a sip. No more for me!!
  20. Wt loss will do it. U lost your insulation!! Also if u are on blood thinners it could make u cold. I was cold all the time first few weeks and I live in Hawaii;)
  21. I didn't have an appetite for a couple wks but now I get hungry. But it's different. I get restless and irritable if I don't eat every 2-3 hrs and then I recognize - shoot I need to eat something. A couple bites later I'm good! I started carrying stuff in my purse in case and that's a lifesaver
  22. I tried to stay away from sugar stuff but my full liquids included sf pudding, Greek yogurt and thinned cream of wheat and I put Splenda on it. I was mostly Afraid of how sugar would make me feel - possible dumping but it doesn't bother me much if I have a little ice cream or a cookie. But I try to stay away. I moved to puréed food at wks 3 but was disgusted at that by second day so just started eating reg food chewed Alot! At 5 wks now I can eat Anything in sm portions! Good luck
  23. I had that too and as a nurse I immediately thought of blood clots but it wasn't. I did take blood thinners for 2 wks post op but Yes my calves did hurt and I'm not sure what that was??
  24. I was eating reg food at 3 wks. Doc originally said 4 but I was tolerating things so well so I did it just chewed a lot. I eat pizza but try to get lean stuff and veggies or at least some meat. I eat the topping first and Mabye a bite or 2 of bread and I'm full but I do love my pizza! Can't remember only eating Part of one slice!
