Also when walking I have been moving my arms around like I have little weights in my hands or like I am punching. That seems to realkt help also move the gas around faster.

I have a friend who got the sleeve about a month before I got banded. We started around the same weight, too. She told me how foolish I was for choosing the band with so much to lose and pretty much hopped on a high horse of superiority. She really thought I was an idiot and that I would regret the band and end up with the Sleeve eventually.
I have lost twice as weight she has so far. Literally. She's lost around 50 pounds, I've lost over 100. She vomits all the time and complains endlessly about not being able to eat what she wants. I've never vomited, only PB'd once, and can still eat whatever I want.
Needless to say, she no longer bashes the band to me.

i can report today is al little better although the gas pains are still horrible. nausea has went away. i think my surgeon must have pumped me up full of air like a hot air balloon because i just can't get rid of this gas, its horrible.

I was banded on Friday and now i'm sitting here thinking....what the hell have I done?!? I feel like poo! My mom is getting on my nerves. everytime i moan in pain she says "oh its going to be ok" umm dang it i know it will be ok but i dont feel good NOW! My sweetie is on a buisness trip sending me pictures of him in his tux drinking his champangne and im sitting in bed looking dishelved eating ice chips! There is no turning back now but geez i hope this gets better soon! <end rant> lol thanks for listening! yall are the only ones that understand.

i was banded on 4/23. i also have 50 pounds to lose and after the struggles and hitting the gym twice a day with my trainer and various other methods i have tried unsuccessfully to lose weight i dont see it as "only" 50 pounds to lose. i do see this as a tool to finally help me get this weight off so it doesnt become 75, 100, 125 pounds to lose etc. I dont regret my decision and money is only money it comes and it goes. I have spent twice as much on dieting and other things to lose weight as this surgery cost me.

I decided to get the band to lose 45-50 pounds. I did not want that to turn into 75, then 100, then 150lbs. I stopped while I was ahead.
There is a lot of heart problems, high blood pressures, even diabetes in my family....
So my recommendation to you is to go for it. I've lost 30 lbs very quickly in the past and put it back on even quicker!!!! Yes the band was pretty drastic for me my I am sure it will be my life saver in the future:)

I'm june 7 th and I'm on day 6 of my three week liquid diet. I am starting at 351lbs but have probably lost around 10 lbs this week. It has been really hard for me. I have been in mourning for my old lifestyle. I am feeling a little better everyday. I spend a ton of time on this site and it has helped a lot. I get on when ever I am super depressed about everything. I would live to have a fellow June buddy to go through this with.

Hang in there. I was just banded Monday. I had terrible nausea day 2 and part of 3. I didn't take pain meds by choice or any type of tylenol. I just have some gas pains in my back. Today i am like a new woman.

Ric, been walking around much more now, still not really passing gas though. Have diarrhea instead, :-/ would rather have that then be constipated, and doc said it was a good sign?

I have the realize band. My surgeon also explained it that this band is more forgiving and less likely to slip when compared to the lapband. I'm 6 months post op and have 7.25cc's in my 11cc band.

Days 2 and 3 were the worst for me. I was worried that the pain I was in was going to last forever. Can we say drama queen? Of course it didn't, but those were tough days. The heating pad was my friend, helped so much. Just remember walk, walk, walk. It really will help. Good Luck!!

I felt the same way too! I was banded on monday, june 11th. The second and third day post-op was the worst. I took liquid tylenol with codine. Would have never made it through. I am five days post-op today and feel.pretty good. Still some gas pain and soreness where my port it. Hopefully it will get better and you heal fast.

I was given liquid cherry flavored morphine upon discharge and used it every 3 hour for a couple days! The real pain for me was the gas pain in my shoulder!! Got to get up and walk so you can fart and get that gas out of you!

My doc said i could crush Tylenol and put it in very little apple sauce and take it that way and have a drink to flush it down good luck!

No pain meds. What a sick man. Don't know how your doing it. But, It will get better I promice.I really regreted surgery for about 3-4 days when I had mine. Was mad at myself, kept thinking, " I'm so stupid, I did this to myself." but it will get better.
