Lacey you can do this! We are on day two together but since you can't have any solids I agree with deana here it will make a lot better by finding a good protein shakes and I use the EAS also! I bout mine at sams club for 27.78 for 24! Didn't you also say you can't have broth either? That doesn't make sense to me but doctors are different. You are strong I know because you have gotten this far and you can do this!

I totally agree with deana here! Of all the protein shakes I've had these are by far the best tasting to me and no after taste! Yay Jackie!

That's great downhomechik! Hopefully u will get an approval soon! My only concern is how much up front costs I have. I know the surgeon has to be paid up front but not sure bout the hospital. I've called them but I still feel uneasy because they say I'll know more when I get your orders! So hopefully it's billed and then I can make payment arrangements.

Well I have to pay my surgeon up front but not sure about the hospital charges. Hopefully since my deductible is met I don't have to pay them up front which is what two ladies I spoke with at the hospital said. But u know how that goes it could vary from person to person lol

If this helps at all, I am drinking the EAS advantage shakes chocolate fudge and they r the best by far to me and no after taste! I'm not sure why different surgeons require different things. Weird! But u can do it! Powerade zero is good too! Can u have that?

How did the first day of diet go for you? 6am 1st protein shake In between 24oz water 10am 2nd protein shake Water 1130 8oz beef broth and water bottle with Walmart brand melon Mio Finished another 40 oz of water by 330 430 8oz beef broth 545 smart ones meal with less than 300cal and 15g or less carbs and 15g or more protein and powerade zero

Did u have to pay for the surgery up front or did u get billed for it!

I had my 1st protein drink at 6am, which by far was better than any I have had before, called EAS Advantage chocolate fudge. I felt hungry about 10 so I went ahead and had my 2nd protein drink and in between has been lots of water. For lunch I had pot roast with all the veggies (this is what I am imagining my beef broth is, so don't get jealous...lol) Water with walmart brand MIO with melon flavor, yummy. I hope that doing it this way I will keep from getting too hungry. I do get to have a smart ones meal with less than 300 calories, less than 15g carbs, and more than 15g carbs. Hopefully it will be good for something to gnaw on. You guys keep in touch with me on this post so I can see how we all are doing if you don't mind.

I woke up this morning pretty excited about starting my preop diet! I may not be so stoked when I get home this afternoon lol! Wish me luck and any advice would be much appreciated!

My surgery is scheduled for July 2nd and I start my pre op diet tomorrow! I am so excited! I am ready to start my new healthier life!

I spoke with several and I was Told by a lady in outpatient and registration that I would need to pay my deductible unless it is met and they may ask if I can pay anything up front and whatever I am able should be fine she said so hopefully so! I do have to pay the surgeon his 10% before surgery but as soon as they call I will post!

Lacey I start mine Monday as well and its for two weeks the first week I can have one meal under 300 cals 15 g of carbs or less and 15g of protein or more with two protein shakes a dAy and the second week with four protein shakes no food! I do like the comment someone left about imagining all we have been through for this and they can't do it because your liver is still too big because u cheated! It makes u think!

My paperwork was submitted June 4th to insurance bcbs of ma and receives approval from phone call from doctor on June 12th! Surgery is July 2nd, so excited! Honestly, I called the insurance everyday after the 5th. That sounds bad but I was so impatient about it lol they were really nice and now just nervous about what I have to give the hospital on the day of surgery because they have not called to tell me yet! I have 250 deductible but it's met and no copay and they will pay 90%. Anyone have any ideas?

I love the Mio but honestly like the taste of the Walmart brand better, no calories no sugar!

I am feeling a little overwhelmed here. I am so excited about my surgery, which is on July 2nd. My concern is having to pay my out of pocket cost up front before you can have surgery, or do they just bill you and you can make arrangements then. Any ideas?
