  1. I posted this same thing a few months ago and my responses were anywhere from that same week to a few weeks. I like you also am pretty "acticve" with my hubs and I know that after my C-sections, which most people said was much, much worse, it was only like three weeks...so we'll see!! Good luck =)
  2. I'm not offended lol...I think its hilarious a doctor said something so non-politically correct!
  3. My surgeon said not to stress out about it too much and my exercise specialist said to just keep doing some hand weights while watching tv and walking. I dissagree that being fat is better than some sag. I speak for myself but if you are fat you take up so much space, face is huge, look crappy in pics or dressed up for weddings etc......if you are saggy tuck that **** into a spanx and work it girl! Good luck =)
  4. That's awesome. What is more awesome than your socks fitting is that you are ROLLER SKATING!! That would be a NSV for me in the first place! Have fun =)
  5. I have been there once already.....gained it all back which is why I'm getting the band this time.... CONGRATS! Best feeling ever!!
  6. OMG that's so hilarious and offensive at the same time LOL!!
  7. I doubt it....those boots are made for a certain leg shape, fat or not. My husband asked me to wear white gogo boots for our 10 year anniversary in Las Vegas and I ordered a pair online that were marked "plus-size". Yeah right! I don't think they'll ever fit. I am going to add some rivets and lace them up the back.
  8. Stilletos Animal prints (in moderation) Colored jeans Skinny jeans Leggings Boots .....basically anything that doesn't look like it's strait from Mrs. Roper's closet. Even at trendy fat stores like LB and Avenue, those flowy tops in the big sizes make me feel ridiculous!!

Even though you tried to be honest with her....it might have been just too much to tell you over coffee. I once found a website that had been bookmarked and thought okay...deep breath...he is still a man and I am still the only one he is physically intimate with. I then joked about it like....oh oh! guess what I found?? Our toys are only for us together, I'm just not the type to whip out a vibrater on a night he's out with the guys but that's just me. Good luck
  10. I have been married 10 years....some of them thin, some of them fat....and fat right now waiting in line to be approved for my surgery! But we are still "active" at least three times a week (that is our current marital commitment we made after some hectic life and ridiculous dry spells) I agree with ALL of those that say it's just a mental thing. My husband loves driving me wild as much as I love to drive him crazy. When I am pleasing him I am not thinking about love handles, stray hairs, or any other crazy things. I am just thinking that I am so in love with this man I'm making love to. He pinky swears me the same thing and I have learned to say F-it, I'm fat but I'm not dead and I'm lucky to be in a great marriage with someone who wants to be with me and make me happy in and out of the bedroom. Go for it girl! Afterwards I doubt you will say you wish you didn't do that LOL.
  11. I posted something similar a few months ago about how long you have to wait before hooking back up and most people said the recovery was only a few days. I too think about this a lot but figure, yes, if it hurts that way then switch, and when we are thinner girl we'll be more confident too Thanks for your honesty. We only have each other.
  12. Just like you I am pre-surgery. I began my journey in March 2012 and nine months later am still running on the hamster wheel to get my *** approval for a completely covered surgery. I would LOVE to share my story with you and my journey, if you are interested please read my blog =) www.mybandemonium.blogspot.com Thank you and GOOD LUCK to everyone.
  13. I for sure see a difference! Congrats! I have an opposite problem...as someone that has been thing, I forget day to day what I look like now (top weight) until I see a picture of myself and then I'm like WTF....oh yeah.... I am still waiting for my *** approval but can't wait to be in your shoes...keep it up, girl!!
  14. I'm so sorry to hear you feel frustrated....your feelings are very normal. Loosing the weight slowly makes the regain less likely, so try and focus on that. If you are used to losing faster, but always regain, then just see this as a completely different opportunity. I have not been banded yet so of course my fear is going through all of this and not losing significantly. Then I think that ANY weight loss is better than where I am now =) Keep up the good work!
  15. Thanks for everyone's support. My sleep study did indeed suck and it turns out I have SEVERE sleep apnea. You can read all about it if you choose on my blog. Going one step at a time...
  16. As with ANY proffession, many can earn the degree, but not all can do the job.....it's a good story that's for sure...and CONGRATS!!
  17. Jelousy is a vicios thing! So sorry no one deserves to be bullied, even adults. Some people will go to any lengths to make themselves feel better about themselves. We are here for you!! Let this go!
  18. Can you find a neighbor kid to help you out for a few bucks! I would be worried about that too although after my c-section I did A LOT of things I was not supposed to do. Take care of yourself!!
  19. Well thanks again everyone...I survived although they did wake me up sometime in the middle of the night to bring me a CPAP machine which made me start crying but I put on my big girl panties and did it. I will start a home machine in about two weeks and then it's on to a healthier place!!
  20. Thank you everyone...tonight is the big night! Let's do this....
  21. I am finaly at the stage where I am going to have my sleep study next week...this is making me freak out just a bit! I am worried that I won't be able to fall asleep, or that I'll do something "weird" in my sleep, or that I will find out I have horrible sleep apnea....who had to do a sleep study and how did it go? Any pointers? Thanks in advance =)
  22. Old habits die hard. I think you DO want to lose weight or you wouldn't have made such a huge life-changing decision. At all stages of this process we will find ourselves in places where we wonder how/why we are doing things. I know once I'm banded I will find myself auto-piloting myself to McD's. I will then have to make a decision to stay or stray but I won't always be perfect...no one is. Good Luck!!
  23. Great Job! As hard as it might have been for you.....imagine those of us that can't WAIT to be in your shoes so pave the way =)
  24. Even in my thinner days I have NEVER had thighs that don't touch LOL....ENJOY your NSV and CONGRATS =)
  25. Fantastic!! Keep up the good work, we got your back!
