    Depressed

Hi, I have been there. The thing is that you will slowly realize that the decision you made was for the best. As you continue to loose the weight and feel better things will slowly make sense. Having surgery has defintily been like a rollercoaster ride for me. I have had my ups and downs. I used to at the beggining miss all the food I used to eat, now I realize that I am greatly blessed by the opportunity of having this surgery. It has made me realize all of the wrong choices I made in the past. I have since been able to eat things I thought I couldnt. Of course the quantity will never be the same but at least you have the chance to try them even if it is for just a bit. I have been overweight my entire life and now for the first time in years I am getting to where I have always wanted to be. I have learned to replace food with other activities like shoping. Hahaha!! Go to support groups they help, trust me. Talking to people here has helped me. I also go to weekly counseling, which also helps me. I am still learning I am 4 months post op so I still have a long way to go, but I am greatful for the things I learn daily. It will get better I promise! Hang in there...

    Scared To Eat

I can just imagine how bad you feel. Therapy does help. Don't be afraid to order out and leave the food that you know is bad for you. I do it all the time! :-) I just try and eat what I can and now is good for me and my weight loss. I go out with my husband and he doesn't make me feel bad because my portions are less than his, he usually takes it home and eats it later LOL!! :-)
  3. I am currently going through that. It is not good. All I can say is Thank God I have a lot of hair, cause it can be frustrating and depresing even. My Dr recomended to take Zink Sulfate, which I have been doing so for two weeks. I have not seen much results but I am assuming it will eventually slow down.

    Sooo Frustrated!

Hi Ashleyxx, Have you tried working out as well. Sometimes working out will accelarate weightloss. If you have been working out, I know of a lady that her weightloss was slow but it was because of her workout regimen, she also was doing weights. I am sure you will get to your goal!! Don't get discouraged! :-) I am 4 months post op and I am starting to see a slow down. Mostly because I haven not been working out. I need to start... I mean I walk but I feel that it is not enough. I am sure I will boost my weight loss if I work out. Good Luck!

    Scared To Eat

Thank you soo much for your suggestion of Fitness Pal. I did start doing it at the beggining of the surgery but then stopped. I should take that up again. I am sure it will calculate my proteins for me, which in turn will put your mind at ease. Thanks again. :-)

    Scared To Eat

I am figuring that out now. I am greatful to this site and the support group meeting that I go monthly and also the weekly counseling sessions. It all helps trust me. I thought I was going Anorexic which is what my mother insisted I was. It is not that I dont want to eat it is just that I am trying to hard to do the right thing. I used to be an emotional eater, and carbs were my very weakness. My counselor said to not be afraid to eat in moderation which is what is important. I will try not to feel guilty and I wil now and again try everything like she said in moderation. Thank you for sharing. Good luck to you as well

    Scared To Eat

I honestly try to pre plan my days with the food intake, I try to drink protein shakes in lieu of food but I am so sick of the protein shakes... I try to eat more meats and veggies meaning the amount that I can eat. Sometimes I hit my goal and sometimes I don't... I know I will get the hang of it. I do need counseling, this surgery and what I am going through is a lot harder than I expected. I am blessed with a great counselor that deals with these types of issues. Thank you for your well wishes!

    Scared To Eat

    Thank you that helps!
  9. Hello Everyone, I am fairly new to SleeveTalk.com. I had a Gastric Sleeve operation done in February 13 2012. It has been a journey, so far I have gone down from 225 to 167 which is amazing, however I am scared to death of food now. I usually go to counseling every week, which I am grateful for. I look at everything before I eat it and if it has too many carbs (or what I consider to many) I will not eat it, which means I limit myself way too much. I feel I have become weak and very cranky at times because my body is craving food. I spoke to my counselor today and she said it is a normal thing to go through. I want to work through it, but I have no idea what people eat that is ok for weight loss. Can anyone tell me if they have gone through something familiar and what they did to over come it? Thank you!
  10. Hello Everyone, I am new to this site. I just had surgery on the 13th of February 2012 and am facing major depression. It is nice to know that it is not uncommon. I am furstrated because I feel hungry and I don't want to.. In all honesty I have had trouble sticking to the diet regimen even though I am eating whatever the DR said I could. I was a big junk food eater and also realized that I was an emotional eater as well. It is really hard getting over it, but I am hopefull that in the long run I will be able to move foward. I am greatful for this site!
