Excess Saliva (sliming?)
For the last two weeks it has been bothering me most everyday. The most my stomach can handle at one sitting is 1/2 a cup, so I am not sure overeating is the issue. And I will still be filled with saliva hours after I have eaten! Driving me crazy.

Excess Saliva (sliming?)
Hi! Two months post op today and I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that I am having serious saliva over-production. Anyone else out there encounter the same issue? I talked to my nutritionist about it today and she said it could be sliming (see link- I know it is lap band and I had sleeve, but same idea: http://drsimpson.net/fills/lap-band-problems/sliming/sliming.html ) It is driving me nuts! I am spitting all of the time and find it rather disgusting. Good news though- two months post op and I am down 32lbs (43lbs if you include my pre-surgery diet).

Exhausted - 9 Weeks Out Gastric Sleeve Surgery And Fall Asleep By 7pm
Start taking B12 and extra vitamin D and make sure you get time outside everyday. I live in the north and we only get about 5 hours of daylight right now and I have noticed myself feeling more tired with the lack of sun. But the extra vitamins are really helping!

Miscarried. And Heartbroken :-( How To Get Back On Track?
See if there is someone in your area that you can talk to like a miscarriage support group or some sort of mental health worker. It might help to talk to a professional about all of the emotions you are experiencing right now. Sorry for your loss. Keep working on becoming healthy both physically and mentally and reach out for support!

Very Low Weight Loss After Gastric Sleeve Surgery ?
Oh don't worry! I went through the same thing. I dropped 10lbs in the first 5 days after surgery and then went 10 days without losing anything. Then the weight started coming off again. It stopped for another 7 days during my period as well. I am coming up to 2 months post op and have lost 29lbs since the surgery (40lbs total with my pre surgery diet). Don't worry- it will work! Just follow all of the guidelines give to you by your surgeon and be patient.

4 Weeks since Gastric Sleeve Surgery Today! Normal Loss? I Think I'm A Slow Loser
Hi! I think some of the big weight loss is from people who are a lot heavier. I am six weeks out and I have lost 25.5lbs and I lost 11lbs on my pre surgery diet for a total of 36.5lbs. You are doing great! Keep at it!

Month Two- Share What You Are Eating!
Yes, Deliah you need to talk to someone right away. Get it to see a nutritionist or dietician and do some meal planning with their help. Your body needs real food, not junk food! If you don't start changing your eating habits now, there will be no way you can maintain weight loss for the long term. I hope you see out some help to get you back on track! Good luck!

How Many Calories Per Meal?
I try and aim for 200 calories for my three main meals (1/2 a cup serving at each meal) and then between 50 and 100 calories for each of my three snacks each day. As of Wednesday I was five weeks out and was just told by my nutritionist that I should be aiming for 800 calories a day.

Weight Loss Has Stalled
I experience a similar stall! I lost 10lbs in the first 5 days after surgery and then nothing for 10 days. I was really starting to get concerned. Then I lost 8lbs in a week. I also had a stall in weight loss during my period. These fluctuations seems pretty normal. Don't worry, it will happen! I have now lost 22.5 since my surgery five weeks ago.

Month Two- Share What You Are Eating!
I am just starting into my second month with my sleeve. I am working on getting more calories in through the run of the day. My nutritionist wants to see 800 calories and 60 grams of Protein. It is hard getting those calories in! Most days I am between 500 and 600 calories, but I am getting there. I can tolerate only half a cup of food at a time. I am having three meals a day and three Snacks. My body does not do well on Protein drinks, so I am getting all of my protein from my meals. Here is my day so far: breakfast: 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt with 1tbsp sugar free strawberry jam snack: 1 small turkey pepperoni stick lunch: 2 oz. rainbow trout with 2tbsp rice and 1tbsp peas snack: 1oz marble cheese supper: not there yet, but thawing out ground moose meat to do a chili evening snack: usually milk mixed with a little Peanut Butter and a quarter of a banana I would love to hear from others as to what you are eating during the day! Share your favorite meals and ideas. Kara in the Yukon

Not mentally prepared...
I am actually seeking professional help for it all! We live in a remote community, but a mental health worker travels here once a month. I will be meeting with her each time she visits to discuss my addiction to food and helping me find alternatives to eating. I have also been reading through these books and they are fantastic. The Success Habits of Weight-Loss Surgery Patients Colleen M. Cook Paperback The Weight Loss Surgery Coping Companion Dr Tanie Miller Kabala Paperback I try and stay out of the kitchen as much as possible, but it is hard with two little boys and a husband to cook for. I keep my hands busy by reading, sewing and going on this forum. See if there is any professional help in your area. It will really come in handy. If we don't discover the reasons behind our eating habits, it will be harder to maintain our weight loss down the road.

Alternatives to Whey Protein?
Hi! I am just over three weeks post-op and adjusting to my sleeve. For most of that time I was suffering from horrible diarrhea. Once I cut out the Protein drinks, I was just fine! My body might just be sensitive to the whey protein. I am doing fairy good in getting in my protein each day (aiming for 60grams a day and usually hitting at least 50) and I am still on very soft food and doing about 500-600 calories a day. I am just looking for any suggestions for Protein Drinks that are not whey based. Please share if there is something you have found and enjoyed. We live 400km from the nearest city and I am heading in this weekend. Hopefully I can find something there. It is so much easier to hit my protein target each day with that drink!!

Started purees... no weight loss?
HI! Sleeved on the 19th and lost 13lbs in the first 9 days. Then I switched to my pureed meals. Taking in about 600 calories a day right now. But since I started the pureed meals, I haven't lost any more weight. Normal?

getting sleeved Tuesday, quick question! :)
How I wish amazon would ship to me!! I am envious. I loved having a bit of warm chicken broth- pick up a can to try too. After 10 days of fluids I was pretty sick of everything though. Good luck on your upcoming surgery!

getting sleeved Tuesday, quick question! :)
I wish I could have found some of the isopure drinks to try! We live in a remote community and no place online wants to ship them to us. I am so sick of protein drinks! Tonight I got to have my first pureed meal- chili- and it tasted great!

body not liking liquids after sleeve....
I was just the opposite! I was fine with water, but anything thick was making me feel pretty ill.
