  1. Anyone have suggestions for full liquids? I'm 'eating' creamed soups, protein shakes, yogurt, sugar-free pudding, milk and the clear liquids. I'm doing well but fear I will get bored over the next few days. Anyone have some good recipes?
  2. Hi everyone and Sombra1718. I was banded last Friday and YES; my throat hurts!! I have asthma and reactive lung disease so my oxygen levels really desaturated during surgery. sugar free Popsicles and pain meds have helped. I'm now alternating OTC meds with the narcotics. Sorry to ask such a personal question but have you guys had a bowel movement yet? With only liquids for a week, I'm not sure what to expect. Also, I started the Calcium chews and those are a huge treat! Yesterday was the first day I started to feel hungry. The full liquids and high Protein have satiated my appetite. Each day is better and better!!
  3. I Chew one mv in the am along with 2 gummy fibers then spac out 3 chewable calcium througout the day (get them at Costco. Remember you can't chew the mv and calcium at the same time, space those out. Also the amount of calcium you need depend on you age, check with your Dr. On that" Thanks, Terri. So is your MVI a gummy one or is it the chalk consistency?
  4. I'm day three post op. I'm swollen too and up three pounds! Is this normal?
  5. Hi everyone! I'm on day three post op. Each day is better and better. I currently have a liquid multivitamin. I accidently picked up a chewable (not gummy) flinstones multivitamin. Will this be okay eventually? My nutritionist instructed me to take 2-3 calcium chews at night. I started last night and those were a treat! That was the first solid 'food' I'd had in a week. I would really appreciate feedback about the multivitamin. Thanks!
  6. I've been reading that people are really suffering if they have hernia repair as well. Hang in there and take those meds!
  7. Hi carolinagirl2012! Are you using an incentive spirometer? It's a plastic handheld breathing exercise. Also, icing my abdomen has helped tremendously.
  8. Oh and artvan35, I would every surprised if I'm back to normal by tomorrow (day 3)!
  9. Hi guys. I'm new to the forum and on post op day 2. My gas has not been too bad and am religious about dissolvable gas-X and pain medication. I'm surprised to have this much pain around the incisions, especially the port site. My abdomen is swollen and bruised around the incisions. I recommend taking the pain medication so your body can focus on healing the surgical sites instead of focussing on the pain. Have you started your Multivitamin yet? I have chewable (not gummy) flintsone vitamins; are these okay? Congratulations to all of us for taking these steps!!!!!
