  1. I also have the gasx and popsicles. I like the atkins shakes, eas carbcontrol shakes, and I am a huge fan of Shakeolgy (but it costs $99 for a bag)
  2. Yep! Do you have everything ready? I have stocked up on Clear Liquids and Soups. I have also made a yummy Soup and froze it so I won't have to cook for a bit. I told my husband he would have to fend for himself. I also stocked up on craft/sewing projects so I don't have to go anywhere or do anything for a while. Just going to rest, walk, craft, rest, walk, and craft.

    Protein First

Chicken, fish, yogurt (greek is best!), beef, eggs
  4. I am also having surgery on the 27th. My doc just told me to do an low carb/high protien diet. I think I will do just liquids the last two days to get ready. I have my parents and my inlaws as well as a few close friends. I don't want to tell too many people because I am afraid of failure.

    Self Pay

I went with TrueResults and it is costing me $9888. That covers all the preop, surgery, and one year of postop. After that my Dr. charges $140 for fills or if you tend to need more fills there is a montly plan for $30.

    Ugggg.... Jean Shopping

I now what you mean. I all my fat is in my front and I have no butt so my jeans are always tight around the waist but look too big in the thighs and butt. I plan on living in stretchy clothes until summer is over.

    Zumba

I love zumba! I am trying to get all the zumba classes in I can before my surgery! Doc told me not to rush it when I get banded so it will be a long few weeks after. I am just glad I have wonderful friends to go walking with me.

    Couch To 5K

I completed the C25K program last summer. It helped me get from 288 to 250. I loved it! My only problem is I wouldn't take a day off between runs so I developed tendinitis in my hips. Oops. The doc told me I had to quit until it stopped hurting and I never started back up Once I am banded on the 27th and recover I hope to get back into it. My husband was a runner and I would like to have that be a healty activity we do together. Now just the waiting game! 10 days until surgery!
  12. Did the surgery with hernia repair take longer than the regular surgery? About how long were you guys out for? Everynow and then I get chest pain and there is also a sharp pain I get when I get into my car (it is low). I just want to be prepared if it turns out that is the case. Also, I am paying cash for my surgery... does the insurance cover that part if they have to do it?
  13. I am having surgery on June 27th and my doctor doesn't require any liquid pre-op diet so no worries... I think it just depends on the Doc.

    Intro

Hi! I am Tristine and I just will be banded on June 27th. I have been diagnosed with PCOS for a few years now. I have had 8 failed fertility treatments I decided to do lapband because it would give me a chance to change my life and hopefully have a baby without having to do IFV!
  15. Hope it went well! Are you feeling ok?
  16. Did you stay around 1200 calories?

Day 5 Post-Op, Unfill And Back To Work Today!

I can't wait for that "not hungry" feeling. My surgery is June 27th!
  18. That is my starting weight and size... I hope I am able to do as well as you have this year It is insprational!
  19. I just got my date today! Things are moving quick! I will be banded on June 27th! So excited and getting nervous!
  20. Your situation is like mine! The main reason I am looking into the band is to help with my fertility. I have been through 8 failed fertility treatments. My fertility specialist is wonderful but we are to the point of IVF. Our insurance doesn't cover it so it would run us around $12-15k. Lap band is going to cost us $10k. I have tried diets to help control my PCOS but I couldn't get over the cravings. I did go from 305 to 250 last summer on my own but it didn't help much. I met with my fertilty doc on Monday and I meet with my lap band doc tomorrow. By the end of tomorrow I will have a decision on which one I am doing. Right now I am leaning towards lap band for a few reasons. First, I want to be healthy! I want to he healthy for me and want to be healthy for my future baby. I would also like to look pregnant when I am pregnant! If I do IVF right now I would be a high risk because of my weight and I that scares me. Now, when I have the band I will not be going on the pill. I am not too worried about getting pregnant because my body is so out of wack but I think will do some family planning to just give me some time to get use to my new life with the band I am also on metformin (500mg 3x a day) .
