  1. yea I would'nt worry either. I honestly wasn't the best about following my diet plan prior to surgery and was just fine. Like the other woman said, they are just trying to shrink your liver so they can put the band in more easily. I wouldn't worry though!!
  2. That is great!! I was thinking about you nonstop and wondering when you were having your surgery and how things went. Glad to hear it went well and seems your doing good! Im so happy for you. =-) We'll have to hang once your feeling a bit better.

  4. Hey girly!! How have you been feeling since your surgery?? I've been meaning to message you and see how you are..call me!!
  5. I loved malt o meal and it made me feel really full too, and pretty low in calories as well.
  6. Eekk! That is higher than my co-pay. I only pay $50 with or w/o a fill. I'll stay there for bit. he he. Yup he's gone then his wife left the office too..now i'm not sure who is taking over now. =-)
  7. I had dr. Swartz and I didn't mind him..he was ok. lol. He is just to the point is all and all business...He isn't here anymore though, I think he relocated to phx and his wife too..so I'm not sure who is doing the fills, etc at that office now, I haven't been in a while. Is it easy to change over dr's if you already have one you go to here? I would be more curious as the the amounts for self pay patients what the cost is for fills..=-)
  8. Yes, I have it as well..I had trouble having my 1st child but I think it was due to be just being so overweight at the time..once I lost 40 lbs and starting taking my thyroid meds I got pregnant the 2nd time much quicker..and I just had my 3rd baby. So it is definatley possible and I think much easier to get pregnant just by losing a bit of weight. Worked for me thank goodness!! Good luck.
  9. wow that sounds really scary. I've read quite a few stories on here that really scare me. I have had my band since June 2008 and no problems yet..thank goodness. I can't imagine having problems constantly and not feeling well. I am sorry to hear you had those problems. Just remember that you are still alive and be thankful that they caught the problem in enough time. I'm sure you can still do well once you recover. Weight Watchers is actually one of the best systems that I used that worked for me when I actually followed it. Good luck to you!!
  10. hi!! I'm fairly new to this board so any new people to chat with about the band, etc. would be great!! Would love to walk and get out too. =-)
  11. Thank you for all the info. It's weird though because I don't ever remember my band being so tight before and then so much looser in the evening. I guess I'll just need to journal and make myself a bit more accountable to what I'm eating. I will definately try some hot liquid in the am and see how that helps. I usually don't have much time with 3 kiddos in the am though, so I'll have to wake up a bit earlier I guess. ha ha.
  12. So I have had my lap band since June 2008 and lost weight really well until getting pregnant back to back and now I'm trying once more to lose my weight. I have my band refilled but it seems sooo different after having my fills taken out and put back in so many times due to pregnancy and when flu season comes around..no good. Well I am really struggling losing weight now. It seems my band is at a good fill level..not too tight, no acid reflex, etc. But in the am it is so tight I cannot eat much except liquids and same with the afternoon..just a few bites of food..at night it is much loser and I am starving and eat way to much..just thinking how weird that my band is so tight in the am then seems so lose in the evening..I know my evening eating habits are not good because then I'm so hungry I pig out..so I'm wondering if I have stretched my band? I am no longer losing weight at all..which is obvious because I am eating too much at night..but even then, I'm not eating 1/2 as much as I used to..really frustrated. =-( Not sure if I need to get another .5cc filled and see if that helps? Any ideas?

  14. Hi!! My name is Laura and I've had the lapband since 2008 as well..not finding many people here in Tucson to chat with about their experiences..would love to chat sometime. I unfortunatley have not been doing well at all with losing weight..had 2 babies since my lap band and I think all the unfilling and refilling really screwed up my band. I was doing great losing weight until I got pregnant and it's never been the same since. =-( My dr that I get my fills with now is great..I just have'nt been recently but probably should go back for a small fill to kick start my weight loss again. Hope your doing good with your weight loss!!
