Yay congrats! I know how that feels, I had to hold back the tears when I found out because I was in the pre op testing waiting area and I didn't want people to think I was looney LOL. Congrats! Do you have a date yet?

Just called and got my check in time for the hospital- I have to be there at 6:15am and I'm the first surgery of the day so I should be in between 7-8am. Trying not to be nervous. Ahhhh. I'm super excited but now the nerves are like 'hello, I'm here!' lol. Not even hungry today.

Thanks so much!! I feel a bit more at ease. Still trying to stay calm. I'm afraid of the pain, but hearing it isn't that bad is really a relief. I've had surgery before (knee surgery 10 years ago) and I just remember being really nauseous after, so I'm praying its not too bad this time. Thanks so much for this! I will keep everyone updated. And good luck to everyone else going this week! Thinking of all my sleeve sisters and brothers!

Thanks everyone. I took a chill pill, got out for a few hours and feel a lot better. I'm gonna just let it go and be happy and excited (but slightly nervous) for surgery on Wednesday!

Thanks so much Lynda! I think I was trying to avoid those awkward confrontations because I hate confrontation, but your right I need to have an answer ready for those people. Just wish my mother would learn to keep things quite, I probably should have expected this because she's always had a big mouth and blabbed things I just thought that something so big and private she would be able to keep to herself. Especially after I begged her to keep quite. Sigh. Thank you for the support!

I just need to vent. I'm having surgery Wednesday. My mother has been very supportive through this whole thing. I live with her so we're very close. I've been very private with my decision to have surgery. I feel it's my business and Ill choose who knows. I've told a few of my best friends and a few family members. Most of my family doesn't know. So my mom takes it upon herself to tell her friends and acquaintances what is goin on they are not even her close friends, just friends she sees once in a while. A few are very judgmental and I just don't want them knowing. She can't understand why I'm angry at this, but its like its MY business! I don't want everyone knowing! She can't see she's wrong in this. I'm a very private person and I've only chosen to tell a select few, why would you think it's okay to blab to all these people I don't even hardly know? One of her friends is a vegan who works for a health food store and specifically I didn't want her telling him because he's one of those people who are extremely opinionated. He lectured me for half an hour one day when I told him I was taking Vitamin D supplements. I just didn't want to deal with more judgement. God knows I get that ENOUGH as a morbidly obese person! I just needed to vent. Overall I am excited for surgery! Just a little stressed and annoyed today.

Thank you! I knew I wanted to get SF pops, almost forgot them! Hope I have everything I need, I have a fear of forgetting something. I'm a bit OCD lol. Now to chill out and try to relax in these last 2 days!

Starting to get nervous over here! My day is Wednesday. Getting all my ducks in a row, got my protein powders today as well as a few bottles of Isopure. I'm going shopping for a few last things tomorrow- lots of broth, a few caned soups, greek yogurt. Stocked up on a ton of SF pudding and jello. Have a few SF syrups also. Anything else you would suggest? Ahh a little jittery here! Just want to make sure I have everything!

This is interesting and something I never knew! I've has darkening areas since I was a pre teen and never knew what it was! I would scrub and scrub but it never got any lighter. This is eye opening!

Good luck! Sending positive thoughts your way and I hope your able to have a regular cycle after surgery! From what I've heard surgery is a life changer, many people with PCOS (not sure if that is your issue or not) have been completely cured of it. Sending you good thoughts!

-Shopping in regular stores -Walking more then a block with out getting winded -Not sweating!! This might be the number one thing!! Lol -SHOES! Especially boots!! -Keeping up with people when I walk - Fitting in a single seat on the bus/train - Not being afraid to fly because you think you might be asked to buy two seats - Amusment park rides- though I have a horrible fear of heights anyway lol but just to be able to if I want to One week until all these things will become a reality for me!

I went to my first seminar in March of 2012 and I'll be sleeved next Wednesday so it took me about 8 months. That was partly because I had to wait 3 months from the seminar to see the surgeon. I didnt see him until June 18th. So if you go from that date is was 5 months. It varies for everyone as you can see, depending on whether you need a pre op diet. My insurance was what I was most scared of and believe it or not that wound up being the fastest part, got approval in less then 24 hours. So you never know whats going to happen with this journey lol. Wish you lots of luck!
